Top 5 superstars who excel at Hell in a Cell matches

Hell in a Cell is a match that has ended careers of superstars over the years. Easily, it is one of the most brutal matches in the history of professional wrestling. However, there are a few wrestlers, who have entered the cell and have managed to conquer it against all odds.

WWE Hell in a Cell is two weeks away and to get into the mood of the show, we have compiled a list of top performers in the Hell in a Cell matches.

Randy Orton

Matches: 4, Wins: 2

Randy Orton – Raising hell inside the cell

In at number 5, is the youngest superstar on this list, Randy Orton. The Viper has participated in four Hell in a Cell matches, winning half of them.

Randy Orton’s first Hell in a Cell match was against the Undertaker at Armageddon 2005. This match was a result of a long standing see-saw rivalry between the two, which was finally put to rest when Undertaker executed the Viper inside the cell.

Randy Orton’s second Hell in a Cell match was against John Cena at the first ever Hell in a Cell PPV. Orton was seen at his demonic best in the match as he demolished Cena, limb-by-limb, to win the WWE Championship.

Following year, Randy Orton defeated the Celtic Warrior Sheamus inside the cell to retain his WWE Championship. The match itself, was however, a dull one as compared to Viper’s previous appearances inside the cell. Nonetheless, whenever one triumphs inside the cell, it always counts.

Orton’s last Hell in a Cell appearance ended in a losing cause against the World’s Strongest Man, Mark Henry, at the 2011 Hell in a Cell PPV. Again, this match was organised to make up the numbers and was not able to create the hype of yesteryears.

However, the voices in my head tell me that the Viper is not done with the cell. Not yet.
