Top 5 tag teams whose members had great solo careers

When Daniel Bryan interrupted the Wyatt Family’s planned attack on CM Punk weeks ago, it became quite clear that two of the most popular superstars in the WWE today are going to join forces. The crowd went berserk.  And they instantly became the most popular tag team in the WWE.

But theirs is not the first team formed with two superstars who have had successful individual careers.

Here are five teams who were awesome individually and together.

5. The Two Man Power Trip

Total Dominance. That was what this team went after and most certainly came damn close to acquiring it. They split sooner that the above tag teams. But at one point they owned most of the gold. Triple H was in his original heel run and Stone Cold had shockingly turned heel at Wrestlemania 17.

4. The Mega Powers

Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage were the two behemoths who owned this tag team moniker. Hulk Hogan created Hulkamania and Macho Man was responsible for Macho madness everywhere he went. There was speculation that the two did not get along because of Hogan’s proximity to Miss Elizabeth and in an art-imitates-life and life-imitates-art turn, the WWF-ederation made this into a storyline.

3. DX

Okay, so Triple H was not such a big deal when DX was actually formed but this team has had several reincarnations in the past years when Triple H went on to be a big deal. These two have great in-ring chemistry together or against each other. Though over the year their comic timing has seen a dip, but they still have an awesome history to counter all that.

2. Brothers of Destruction

Two of the best and legendary fictional characters in the WWE. Nobody in the WWE present or past has as much depth as these two characters. While the Undertaker went on to arguably become the greatest fictional character, Kane’s presence in WWE is still timeless.

They, most recently, joined forces to face the Shield while Kane was involved in a tag team with Daniel Bryan. But anytime Kane and Undertaker are in the ring together, it’s pure magic in all its twisted ways.

1. The Rock N Sock Connection

Here is the WWE’s version of The Odd Couple. One of the weirdest combinations, like water and something that does not go well with water.

But they were breathtaking together. Their This Is Your Life segment is a treasure from the Attitude Era. They reunited few years later to face Evolution at Wrestlemania. And lost. But their awesomeness will live forever!
