Top champion to flip after title loss & more - 3 WWE Superstars who could turn heel at Clash at the Castle and 2 who may turn face
WWE has a massive show lined up for Clash at the Castle, which is scheduled to take place in Glasgow, Scotland, this Saturday. The upcoming Premium Live Event will see several top superstars look for career-defining championship wins.
However, a few of them may leave the show with more than just a title. We could see several big names undergo a massive character change, courtesy of a shocking title loss or heartbreaking betrayal at the show.
Here, we look at WWE Superstars who could turn heel at Clash at the Castle and those who could turn face. So, without further ado, let's begin.
#1. Could turn face at Clash at the Castle - Damian Priest
Damian Priest is set to defend his World Heavyweight Championship at Clash at the Castle against Drew McIntyre. The stage is set for the Scottish Warrior to pick up a dream victory over Priest and raise the title in front of his home crowd, especially after he defeated Finn Balor to get The Judgment Day barred from ringside for this title match.
However, we may see Finn Balor and the rest of the Judgment Day appear after the match. The Prince may have been plotting a massive betrayal and could attack Damian Priest at the upcoming show to set up the latter's face turn. It will be interesting to see what's next for Judgment Day if Finn Balor betrays Damian Priest this weekend.
#2. Could turn heel at Clash at the Castle - Jade Cargill
Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair defeated the Kabuki Warriors to win the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships at Backlash, France. They have been presented as strong champions but have not been involved in compelling title feuds. Cargill and Belair will put their tag team championships on the line at Clash at the Castle in a triple-threat match.
Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark won a Fatal 4-way Match to earn their title shot. However, Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn brawl their way into the title bout, adding to the threat against the reigning champions. If Belair and Cargill lose the tag team gold, we may see the latter blame EST of WWE for the loss and betray her partner. This would set up a massive feud between Belair and Cargill on SmackDown in a rivalry that may not need a championship.
#3. Could turn face at Clash at the Castle - Otis (with Maxxine Dupri and Akira Tozawa)
The last few episodes of WWE RAW have seen Chad Gable unleash his ruthlessness on the Alpha Academy since turning heel. Despite Sami Zayn's repeated instances, Otis has ultimately done what was asked of him to protect Maxxine Dupri and Akira Tozawa. The former Money in the Bank winner has shown resilience on a few occasions before eventually bowing down to Gable.
He will accompany Chad Gable when the latter challenges Sami Zayn for the Intercontinental Championship at Clash at the Castle. Although Otis insists that he owes his loyalty to Gable, there is a huge chance he will finally step up to his stable leader's torments. Their feud could work wonders for Gable's heel run on WWE RAW while also freeing Otis, Maxine Dupri, and Akira to work as promising babyfaces.
#4. Could turn heel at Clash at the Castle - Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark
It would be a better decision to have Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair retain their WWE Women's Tag Team Championships. They may pin Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre to successfully defend their titles, leaving Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark frustrated over their compromised opportunity.
Keeping the tag team championships on Cargill and Belair would allow them to develop better chemistry as champions before they elevate the title. It would also give the creative team enough time to build credible challengers and strengthen the tag team division.
We may see Baszler and Stark finally ally with Sonya Deville, who has offered the duo her managerial services over the last few weeks. They are both strong contenders and a potential heel turn could help add more interest to their build before they challenge for the tag team gold again.
