Top champion's real target, AJ Lee to return soon? - 5 biggest talking points from WWE RAW this week
WWE delivered a solid episode filled with action and drama on Monday Night RAW this week. The latest edition of the show saw a championship shockingly change hands.
More superstars booked their spots in the Women's and Men's Money in the Bank Ladder Matches. Additionally, top championship feuds turned up the heat, as we inch closer to the next Premium Live Event.
Here, we look at the five biggest talking points from this week's Monday Night RAW. So, without further ado, let's begin:
#1. Drew McIntyre sends a message to CM Punk involving AJ Lee
Drew McIntyre got his revenge on CM Punk when he attacked the latter on SmackDown last week in Chicago. The Scottish Warrior took Punk's bracelet that has his wife and dog's name on it and brought it with him on WWE RAW this week. He used it as a tool to mock The Best in The World before declaring his intentions to go after the Money in the Bank briefcase.
McIntyre notably brought up CM Punk's wife and former WWE Superstar AJ Lee without mentioning her name. If he qualifies for the Men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match, it could allow Triple H to have AJ Lee return for a one-off appearance and cost The Scottish Warrior his victory. Drew McIntyre and CM Punk could headline SummerSlam this year, and another lost opportunity would add to their brutal rivalry.
#2. Liv Morgan's secret alliance with Finn Balor on WWE RAW
Liv Morgan has openly sought a romantic relationship with Dominik Mysterio ever since the latter 'accidentally' helped her win the Women's World Championship. However, it was her potential alliance with Finn Balor that raised eyebrows on Monday Night RAW this week.
Before his controversial meeting with Seth Rollins, Damian Priest caught the Women's World Champion leaving The Judgment Day locker room with only Balor present inside.
Later on in the show, Finn Balor and JD McDonagh challenge The Awesome Truth for the World Tag Team Championship. Morgan helped The Judgment Day members get the impromptu title match and then assisted their win in the main event. She also posed with Finn Balor and JD McDonagh, hinting at a potential alliance soon.
#3. Bo Dallas' interview with Uncle Howdy
The Wyatt Sicks aired a VHS tape on RAW this week that saw Uncle Howdy interview Bo Dallas, asking him questions about his return. Bo was seen without his mask on WWE television for the first time since being released in 2021. When asked if he was back to exploit his brother's (Bray Wyatt) legacy, Dallas gave an emotional response.
He revealed that the duo planned to rule together, and now that they finally had the chance, it was all taken away with Bray's untimely demise. The Wyatt Sicks leader explained his motivation behind the Bray Wyatt-tribute faction in WWE, taking pride in reminding everyone of his brother. The segment added to Dallas and Uncle Howdy's character and gave an insight into his psyche after a stunning return last week.
#4. Chad Gable's potential new faction on WWE RAW
Chad Gable was the most prominent victim of Wyatt Sicks' backstage attack last week on RAW. However, Master Gable returned last night to compete in the Money in the Bank qualifier match, where he locked horns with Braun Strowman and BIG Bronson Reed. The Olympian booked his spot in the Men's MITB Ladder Match after pinning Reed, but his celebrations were short-lived.
The Wyatt Sicks' Nikki Cross made a surprise appearance right after the match and briefly met Gable inside the ring before heading towards Michael Cole to hand over the abovementioned VHS tape. Later, Gable was spotted asking for a second chance from Otis, Maxxine Dupri, and Akira Tozawa backstage.
However, the former Alpha Academy members, especially Otis, refused to get behind their former leader. Instead, we saw The Creed Brothers and Ivy Nile check on a dejected Gable. WWE seemingly hinted at a new version of the Alpha Academy with this meeting, but it will be interesting to see if Gable's recent actions will serve as a factor.
#5. Bron Breakker gets his title opportunity at Money in the Bank
Bron Breakker has been wreaking havoc on WWE RAW ever since he was not booked to compete in the King of the Ring tournament. The former NXT Champion locked horns with Ludwig Kaiser in a singles match this week, which ended in a disqualification after Sheamus interfered and attacked the Imperium member, as a payback for last week.
Breakker responded with a devastating Spear to both superstars before rushing back to speak with RAW General Manager Adam Pearce. However, Sami Zayn appeared and granted him a title shot instead. The Intercontinental Champion will now put his title on the line against Bron Breakker at Money in the Bank.
Given his recent run, Breakker has a good chance of winning his first title on the main roster, but his repeated agitation with people interfering in his matches could be hinting at a potential twist.
