Top RAW News & Rumors: Another major star heading to AEW after WWE exit, Former world champion faces severe punishment, Seth Rollins on Becky Lynch

Welcome to another edition of the top RAW backstage rumors and news stories that could have a major impact on the brand's future. In today's edition, we will look at some intriguing topics revolving around superstars like former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre, Seth Rollins, and Becky Lynch.

The Scottish Warrior faced yet another setback thanks to CM Punk at Money in the Bank 2024. After winning the Men's MITB contract, McIntyre tried to cash it in to become the World Heavyweight Champion. However, McIntyre's arch-rival, CM Punk, cost him a potential win again. Let's take a look at the top RAW rumors and news for today.

#1 Drew McIntyre punished for lashing out at RAW general manager

Annoyed with consistently being outdone by Punk, McIntyre had an emotional outburst during the MITB post-show, which featured Jackie Redmond, Big E, and Wade Barrett. The Scottish Warrior even assaulted Adam Pearce, who had come out to try and control his anger. The RAW general manager later declared that McIntyre had been suspended for his actions.

Fans had varied reactions to the situation, as some felt that McIntyre did not deserve such a severe punishment. Punk cost the Scotsman a chance to become the World Heavyweight Champion for the third time on July 6.

After being constantly irked by the former WWE Champion, RAW Superstar Drew McIntyre will be looking for retribution whenever his suspension gets lifted.

#2 Seth Rollins comments on his wife Becky Lynch's future

On the Countdown to Money in the Bank, Michael Cole asked Seth Rollins about his wife, Becky Lynch. The Man chose to leave WWE after her contract expired.

In her last match, Lynch faced Liv Morgan inside a steel cage on RAW. She has not re-signed with the company yet and is currently on a sabbatical. Here is what The Visionary had to say about The Man:

"The Man's great. She's great. I can't speak to her future or what she's got moving forward, but she's great, she's in good spirits, and the little one's awesome as well. She's three-and-a-half, and she's a menace. She runs the ship." [H/T: Fightful]

There has been much speculation surrounding the former Women's Champion's future after her exit. However, the internal belief is that she will return to the company when she is ready. Meanwhile, some think that Lynch might be weighing her options and could choose to go another route now that she is a free agent.

#1 Ricochet reportedly set to join AEW

Ricochet became a free agent when his WWE contract expired at the beginning of July 2024. It's widely believed that his next destination will be AEW. According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, The Human Highlight Reel is expected to debut in All Elite Wrestling soon.

A report by Fightful Select had also noted that the former Speed Champion could head to the Tony Khan-led promotion.

Ricochet was written off RAW after being brutally assaulted by Bron Breakker. He was in a program with Ijja Dragunov and Breakker before his exit. It is believed that the company could not reach an agreement with him to sign a new contract.

The star could follow in the footsteps of top names like Jon Moxley, Mercedes Mone, and Adam Copeland by potentially inking a deal with AEW.
