Top RAW News & Rumors: Former US Champion has been released because of no creative plans, Seth Rollins' return, Shinsuke Nakamura's message
A very warm welcome to another edition of the top RAW backstage rumors and news stories that could have a major impact on the flagship show in the future. In today's edition, we will examine some interesting stories revolving around superstars such as Shinsuke Nakamura, Cody Rhodes, and Seth Rollins.
Seth Rollins has not been seen on RAW since he lost the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 40. It was rumored that The Visionary would be out for at least four weeks due to injury-related issues. Unfortunately, as per a new report, the time for his return may be longer.
#1. Details regarding Seth Rollins' return to RAW
According to Dave Meltzer (WON), former World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins will likely be out of action for a lengthy period. The veteran journalist stated that Rollins suffered from a torn meniscus in January. If the former champion goes for extensive surgery then he would be out for around 8 months. Otherwise, he could return in two to three months.
Seth Freakin Rollins had a tremendous showing at WrestleMania 40. Despite being in two matches, he lost both. First, he lost the tag team match against The Rock and Roman Reigns when he had teamed up with Cody Rhodes, and then he lost the World Championship match to Drew McIntyre.
#2. Jinder Mahal was released by WWE because of a lack of plans for him
The Modern Day Maharaja shocked the wrestling community this past week when he posted ''I Quit. Maharaja Out!'' on his Twitter/X account. However, Fightful Select later reported that the Stamford-based promotion had parted ways with the former US Champion. The RAW Superstar was managing the Indus Sher faction, but despite constant start-stop pushes, the trio was eventually let go by the company.
The report also stated that the trio was released because the creative team did not have major plans for them. Mahal shared a memorable segment with The Rock in January on RAW, which led his fans to believe he would soon get another push. Sadly, that did not happen.
#3. Shinsuke Nakamura's cryptic message after loss to Cody Rhodes
Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes has a storied history with Shinsuke Nakamura. The two men had a vicious feud in late 2023, with Nakamura constantly attacking The American Nightmare and even taking shots aimed at his father, the late Dusty Rhodes. While Rhodes emerged victorious in that feud, the two men met again in a match in the UK.
The American Nightmare defeated Nakamura yet again. Following his defeat, the Japanese superstar took to Instagram and wrote, ''Just keep fighting!'' This could be an indication, that despite suffering loss after loss at the hands of Rhodes, Nakamura has not given up on his desire to defeat the reigning Undisputed WWE Champion.
