Top SmackDown News: Massive star's career allegedly over following horrific injury, Cody Rhodes' wife sends message to Roman Reigns, Jacob Fatu plans

Greetings and welcome to yet another edition of Sportskeeda Wrestling's Top SmackDown News. Today, we will cover some exciting topics related to top names, like the former WWE Champion Big E, Jacob Fatu, and Roman Reigns.

Roman Reigns finally returned to WWE after months of absence at SummerSlam. The Original Tribal Chief went straight after Solo Sikoa, who had been claiming to be the new Tribal Chief. With Reigns back in action, there are rumblings that the Original Bloodline, featuring Jey Uso, Sami Zayn, and Jimmy Uso, could be coming back. Apart from that, we'll talk about a former WWE Champion who may never wrestle again.

#1. Brandi Rhodes sends a message to Roman Reigns after his return

The Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns, helped his rival Cody Rhodes defeat Solo Sikoa at SummerSlam. Rhodes dethroned Reigns at WrestleMania 40 after an almost year-long feud. Despite Reigns' help, Cody Rhodes' wife has not yet taken a liking to the former WWE Champion. Here is what she said on X:

"He's not invited to Thanksgiving. Not yet. There's an open seat but...too early to fill it right now," wrote Brandi.

Rhodes had the odds stacked against him as he took on Sikoa at SummerSlam in a Bloodline rules match. After being brutalized by Jacob Fatu, it looked like Rhodes might lose the WWE title until Roman returned and hit a Spear and Superman Punch on Sikoa to help Cody.

#2. Konnan on Roman Reigns potentially facing Jacob Fatu in the future

On his podcast Keepin' It 100 OFFICIAL, former US Champion Konnan discussed the potential clash between Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu. He stated that the match could be "huge" if the company keeps booking Sikoa's Enforcer as a "monster."

"It'll be huge. Bro, they built [Jacob] Fatu to be a monster. I think Fatu, if they keep booking him like this, him and Roman's gonna be money," he said.

Fatu has been praised by fans and critics ever since he joined Sikoa's Bloodline on SmackDown as the enforcer. At SummerSlam, he seemingly injured his leg while hitting a top rope splash on Cody Rhodes. There are differing reports regarding the SmackDown star's injury, as some claim it was work, while others suggest the injury is real.

#3. Big E will never be able to wrestle again, as per Jonathan Coachman, after his injury on SmackDown

Former WWE announcer and General Manager Jonathan Coachman stated that former World Champion Big E would never wrestle again because of his injury. The New Day member has not competed for over two years. Here is what The Coach said on Behind the Turnbuckle.

Tommy, he's [Big E] never wrestling again, '' Coachman said. ''No, no way," Tommy Carlucci replied. "He's never wrestling again. I know he wants to,'' said Coach.

Big E, now 38, suffered a broken neck during a spot with Ridge Holland on SmackDown in March 2022, leading to his absence from in-ring competition. Despite this, the New Day member has taken on other roles within the Stamford-based company, including serving as a panelist.
