Triple H to announce an unsanctioned match on Cody Rhodes' request? Chances analyzed
The poster boy of the Triple H era is undoubtedly Cody Rhodes. The American Nightmare has been nothing short of exceptional as the Undisputed WWE Champion and as the face of the company. The Game certainly owes Rhodes a lot, and he might just repay him soon, by announcing an unsanctioned match that the latter desperately wants.
Rhodes is determined to face The Prizefighter, who has been causing chaos on the blue brand lately. The Undisputed WWE Champion may have reached his breaking point after KO injured his close friend Randy Orton last week with a Piledriver. Considering this, the 39-year-old might ask Triple H for a match that is not officially authorized.
Kevin Owens has demonstrated that he is unreliable in a formal match. Originally set to face Orton at Crown Jewel, the bout was scrapped when Owens attacked The Viper before the match even began. To prevent a similar incident, Triple H may be forced to book an unsanctioned match. Then, the responsibility would lie with both Cody Rhodes and KO to resolve their issues, whether inside or outside the ring.
If this unsanctioned match should come to pass, there will likely be no complaints from either Rhodes or Owens. Both men want to destroy each other, as each feels they have been wronged by the other. Nevertheless, at the end of the day, this is nothing more than speculation, and only time will tell how things unfold.
Triple H might have to give Cody Rhodes the same warning he gave Randy Orton
No matter what, it seems inevitable that Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens will clash. Whether it is in an unsanctioned match or an official capacity is something that remains to be seen. However, the animosity between the two characters is real, and they likely cannot be kept away from each other for much longer. But, before things reach that point, Triple H would do well to give his Undisputed WWE Champion a fair warning.
Perhaps the same warning he gave Randy Orton would be enough. Prior to making their match at Crown Jewel official, the Cerebral Assassin warned the Apex Predator of what he was getting into. He told Randy that he did not want to book the match because of how unhinged KO had become. So much so, that he felt he needed to protect Orton from The Prizefighter, and not the other way around.
And based on what happened on last week's SmackDown, he was right. Owens seems blind to consequences currently as evidenced by his hitting the illegal Piledriver on his former tag team partner and friend. Only KO knows what he can do when he finally steps into the ring with Cody Rhodes.
