Triple H dropped the ball with a top WWE Superstar who returned this year? Exploring the potential downfall
Ever since Triple H took over the creative regime of WWE, he has brought several superstars back to the company. While most talents have found a new direction, a few stars are still struggling to get the limelight. The Game might have dropped the ball with a top star who returned to the Stamford-based promotion at the Royal Rumble earlier this year.
The name in question is Andrade. The 34-year-old star was riding high on the edge of a lightning bolt when he returned to WWE at the Men's Royal Rumble Match this year. However, his momentum soon vanished, as WWE failed to put him in significant storylines.
When it looked like a compelling storyline was brewing between Andrade and Dominik Mysterio on RAW, the Triple H-led management miserably failed to capitalize on its full potential. It is because the storyline simply ended with him competing against Dominik at WrestleMania XL in a tag team match.
When fans finally expected Andrade to be involved in major programs post-WrestleMania XL, nothing much happened either. The former United States Champion was drafted to SmackDown during the 2024 Draft, where he has been making sporadic appearances. The 34-year-old star has looked directionless on the roster due to his abysmal bookings.
Therefore, it will be safe to say that Triple H may have fumbled with Andrade, as the Stamford-based promotion has failed to put the latter in any major feuds or storylines since his return.
Andrade captured his first title under Triple H's regime
Andrade's recent booking on the main roster has undoubtedly been lackluster. However, the SmackDown Superstar recently managed to capture his first championship since his return to the Stamford-based promotion.
Andrade recently won the WWE Speed Championship and became the second superstar to hold the title after Ricochet. In the wake of his victory, Triple H congratulated the Mexican star on social media.
The King of Kings also praised the former United States Champion during the Clash at the Castle post-show press conference. The reigning Speed Champion will square off against Kevin Owens and Grayson Waller in a Triple Threat Match on this week's SmackDown. The winner will book a spot in the upcoming Men's MITB Ladder Match. It will be interesting to see if Andrade manages to seal his spot in the marquee multi-man match.
