Triple H to leave current WWE champion off Bad Blood despite pushing him to the moon? Exploring the possibility
Bad Blood is set to be another blockbuster premium live event under the creative leadership of WWE's Chief Content Officer, Triple H. The spectacle is set to emanate from the heart of Atlanta, Georgia, and promises to be a thrilling showcase of championship defenses and rivalry climaxes. However, a current WWE champion who has been on a gargantuan push lately may be left off the card.
The name in question is Bron Breakker. The 26-year-old is set to defend the Intercontinental Championship against Jey Uso, after the latter won the Fatal Four Way match this week to earn the opportunity. While Bad Blood seems to be a possible place where this highly anticipated match would happen, The Game might make a huge swerve by not featuring Breakker and Jey at the upcoming PLE.
The premium live events under Triple H's regime have mostly been limited to five matches in recent times as WWE has been following a more streamlined approach. Three matches have already been made official for Bad Blood as of now, leaving only two vacant spots. Sami Zayn vs. Gunther is another match that is all but confirmed for the upcoming spectacle.
The last spot could be reserved for the Undisputed WWE Championship match, as Cody Rhodes is likely to defend his title at Bad Blood, with it being held in his hometown. Therefore, with WWE seemingly trending on a five-match PLE pattern, there's a good possibility that Bron Breakker may not get a spot at the impending spectacle regardless of the red-hot momentum he has.
It will be interesting to see whether Triple H breaks his traditional pattern of limited matches at PLEs to feature Bron Breakker or if the company books his title defense against Jey Uso on as an attraction for an upcoming episode of RAW.
Bron Breakker missing Bad Blood could affect his momentum
Ever since winning the Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam, Bron Breakker has had only one title defense, which also came on an episode of RAW. The 26-year-old was not featured at Bash in Berlin either, despite being a brand new champion on the roster.
Breakker is currently rumored to miss Bad Blood as well, as his title defense is expected to take place on an episode of RAW instead. However, the reigning Intercontinental Champion missing two consecutive PLEs in a row could potentially derail his burgeoning momentum.
Him not appearing at a second consecutive PLE could showcase that Bron Breakker's title is less significant and diminish his momentum. The Championship not being defended could also erode the prestige of the coveted title and make it look like a secondary tier of importance.
A lack of defenses on major stages could mark Bron's title reign with a lack of prominence, which could have major implications in the long run.
Hence, the 26-year-old missing WWE's upcoming Bad Blood Premium Live Event could affect him significantly.
