Triple H made huge mistake with major WWE star on SmackDown? Exploring alternative scenario
This week on WWE SmackDown, LA Knight was able to issue an open challenge for the United States Championship, and interestingly, it was answered by RAW star Ludwig Kaiser.
The Imperium member made the move from RAW to answer the challenge, and it put him in the perfect position to be confronted by a figure from his past.
Kaiser was over as the hometown boy in Germany, but he was defeated cleanly by LA Knight. There was an option here for Giovanni Vinci to involve himself in the match and cost Kaiser while exacting revenge for being kicked out of the Imperium.
Vinci wasn't able to exact any revenge following his removal from the group since he was moved over to SmackDown, with Gunther and Kaiser remaining on RAW. This was the perfect chance for him to pop up and remind him that he was someone he needed to look out for.
Kaiser was over, despite being a heel, and the match ending felt like a letdown.
Why was Giovanni Vinci not part of WWE SmackDown?
Vinci is Italian, so it seems that he wasn't chosen to be part of the tour of Germany. Interestingly, as part of the match between Kaiser and Knight, it was revealed that Vinci would make his return to SmackDown next week when WWE returns to The States.
This means that it appears Vinci won't be getting any revenge on his former teammates this weekend, and instead, he appears to be making his re-debut under a different character on SmackDown.
Vinci and Kaiser were a formidable team when they worked as Imperium, but it seems that this is definitely over now and could instead be something that WWE decides to revisit in a few years if the two stars ever find themselves on the same roster again.
