Triple H to officially compete in his final WWE match? - 4 reasons why The Game assaulted Kevin OwensÂ
Cody Rhodes was able to defeat Kevin Owens at Saturday Night's Main Event when he delivered a Cross Rhodes onto a chair behind the WWE official's back. While seemingly controversial, the events following the match hogged all the attention.
Clearly, Owens wasn't happy about the result and, after the match, he assaulted Rhodes and delivered a Package Piledriver, which forced medical officials to stretcher the world champion out of the arena.
Triple H then headed down the ramp and had an altercation with Owens, pushing him several times before the two men stood toe-to-toe with The Prizefighter eventually backing down.
Triple H hasn't been able to wrestle for several years, but this could be a hint that he might have found a way to finally have his retirement match. Here are just four reasons why The Game attacked his employee.
#4. Cody Rhodes and Triple H are close friends and he didn't think before the attack
It's been clear since WrestleMania that Triple H and Cody Rhodes have become close friends and, after The Game worked with his father Dusty, he's seemingly enjoyed being able to hand Rhodes the title run that he has dreamed of.
Triple H could have been heading to the ring to check on Rhodes when he saw Kevin Owens celebrating with the title he gave to The American Nightmare. This could have forced his hand and pushed him to attack without thinking, knowing that he could be in trouble himself.
#3. The Game reacted because Kevin Owens is costing him and WWE money
Cody Rhodes is the Undisputed WWE Champion and the face of the company, which means that every day that he is in the hospital because Kevin Owens dropped him on his neck, Cody's time out costs WWE money.
It's unclear how long Rhodes will be out of action following the attack but Triple H reacted the way he did because Kevin Owens' actions were selfish. He didn't think about the fact that Rhodes has appearances and dates that he needs to fulfill that he can't when he's in a hospital bed.
#2. Someone needed to step in because this isn't the first time
Kevin Owens has been creating havoc since Bad Blood. It has been months of attacks and issues with Owens and after he took out Randy Orton with a Piledriver a few weeks ago, it seems that it was time for someone to finally step in and make it clear that he can't act this way.
Owens has no respect for the rules in WWE and has assaulted officials and superstars over the past few weeks and it could finally be time for The King of Kings to suspend him and let him think about his actions.
#1. Triple H to finally get a retirement match
While it is a long shot, given Triple H's current health status, it's easy to imagine that sitting on the sidelines for WrestleMania 40 gave him the itch to find a way to finally bow out on his own terms.
With Seth Rollins and CM Punk seemingly set to collide on RAW in January, there could be an open spot in the main event of WrestleMania Night One, which could belong to The Game if there is a way for him to step back into the ring one last time.
Triple H was never able to have a retirement match, and this could finally be his moment.
