Triple H to push unpopular star; former WWE Champion to return after 2.5 years? 5 things that may happen if The New Day breaks up

The New Day has been feuding with The Final Testament for the past few months on WWE RAW. Karrion Kross has been trying to drive a wedge between Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, as The Doomwalker wants Woods to join his faction.

It has been over 10 years since the formation of The New Day. With Big E being out of action for over two years due to a neck injury, the team of Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods seems to be getting stale.

On the latest episode of RAW, Kingston hijacked Woods' promo, which could be an indication that the duo would implode soon.

Here are five things that could happen if The New Day breaks up.

#5. Karrion Kross gets a big push in WWE

WWE's Chief Content Officer, Triple H, was a big supporter of Karrion Kross when the latter signed with the Stamford-based promotion in 2020. The Game booked him as one of the most dominant NXT Champions in history.

The leader of The Final Testament won the NXT Championship twice but failed on the main roster under Vince McMahon's booking. However, Triple H hired him again in 2022 after taking over the creative department of the global juggernaut.

Although Kross has not been in the spotlight on the main roster so far, he could receive a big push if he causes The New Day to break up.

He could become an upper-mid card wrestler and a contender for the Intercontinental Championship in the future. It is also possible that he will challenge Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship at some point because The Ring General will likely have a long reign in which he would need to run through a lot of stars.

#4. AOP wins the World Tag Team Championship

If Karrion Kross gets a push, the Authors of Pain may receive the spotlight alongside him too.

Akam and Rezar were a dominant tag team in WWE NXT and won gold as a duo under Triple H during their time on the brand.

The World Tag Team Championship has not been defended since Finn Balor and JD McDonagh of The Judgment Day won it. Some fresh faces, like AOP, being booked to go after the title may bring a much-needed change in the tag team division on RAW.

#3. Kofi Kingston gets lost in the shuffle

Kofi Kingston joined WWE in 2006 and has had a pretty decent career. The 43-year-old veteran has done it all in the Stamford-based promotion, so it does not look like Triple H will have any big plans for him if The New Day splits.

The 15-time Tag Team Champion could stop being featured on RAW regularly and may become a big part of WWE Speed. The show mainly focuses on high-flying and technical wrestlers, so it would be a perfect place for him.

The former WWE Champion may be booked, like The Miz and Rey Mysterio, on the main roster. He could put over wrestlers and be used in the lower card.

Another possibility could involve Kingston joining NXT, as his working with the young talents would benefit them a lot.

#2. Xavier Woods becomes a solid mid-card star

Xavier Woods is great on the microphone. If he joins The Final Testament, he will immediately become the mouthpiece of the group.

He could have a short feud with Kofi Kingston if The New Day breaks up. He will likely win the feud if it happens, as he needs a push more than his tag team partner.

The former King of the Ring could part ways with The Final Testament and become a contender for the Intercontinental Championship at some point.

Woods has shown in the past that he has the potential to put on great matches, so a singles run on the main roster may lead to something big for him in WWE.

#1. Big E returns to WWE

Big E suffered a broken neck after Ridge Holland hit him with an Overhead Belly-To-Belly Suplex outside the ring, which led to the former landing on his head on the March 11, 2022, episode of WWE SmackDown.

The former WWE Champion has been out of action since then, but he has been a part of the kickoff panels for the Stamford-based promotion's premium live events.

Big E could return if The New Day breaks up to try and reunite Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods. The 38-year-old star making an in-ring return is also possible because Triple H promised fans after SummerSlam that WWE would close out 2024 in a big way.
