Triple H's favorites, underrated talent in top stable – 5 WWE stars who need a title win in 2024
WWE has a wealth of championships. RAW, SmackDown, and NXT have belts exclusive to their respective brands. However, the Stamford-based promotion also has a few titles that aren't exclusive to a particular brand.
RAW, for example, has the World Heavyweight Championship, the Women's World Championship, the Intercontinental Championship, and the World Tag Team Championship as exclusive titles. SmackDown, on the other hand, has the Undisputed WWE Championship, the WWE Women's Championship, and the United States Title as its own.
Meanwhile, the white and gold brand has the NXT Championship, the NXT Women's Championship, the NXT North American Title, the NXT Women's North American Title, the NXT Tag Team Championship, and the Heritage Cup. Lastly, the Women's Tag Team Title and the Speed Championship aren't assigned to any specific brand.
With numerous champions across all of the company's shows, there are many opportunities for stars to win gold, and Triple H can propel new talent to heights they haven't yet reached.
This article will look at five performers from both RAW and SmackDown who could and should win a belt of some kind before 2024 ends, regardless of which show owns the gold in question.
Below are five WWE Superstars who need a title win in 2024:
#5. Johnny Gargano & #4. Tommaso Ciampa are Triple H's favorites
#DIY is one of the most popular tag teams in WWE today. The tag team is comprised of Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano, two former NXT Champions who also held tag team gold together. They had an infamous split and an iconic feud on the developmental brand, but later reunited on RAW.
The talented performers are currently part of Friday Night SmackDown, where they are focused on capturing the WWE Tag Team Championship from A-Town Down Under. #DIY will have a shot at glory soon, as they'll challenge Austin Theory and Grayson Waller this Friday.
The duo of Gargano and Ciampa have long been considered favorites of Triple H. The Game pushed them heavily as a team on NXT and later as singles stars. Given that he now runs the main roster, it feels inevitable that the two will win the main roster gold, and it should happen sooner rather than later.
#3. Dakota Kai should hold a singles championship
Dakota Kai is one of WWE's most underrated performers. While on NXT, the Auckland-born star managed to hold the NXT Women's Tag Team Title, and she replicated the same on the main roster. However, the talented star has yet to capture singles gold in the Stamford-based promotion.
Kai is a member of Damage CTRL. The WWE stable also features IYO SKY, Kairi Sane, and the injured Asuka. Bayley, who was the leader of the group, was violently exiled earlier this year.
It is about time that Dakota won her first-ever singles title. The 36-year-old will lock horns with Zoey Stark and Ivy Nile in a Triple Threat Match on the upcoming episode of RAW, with a spot in the Women's MITB Ladder Match up for grabs. Kai will look to earn a place in the gimmick match and hopefully kickstart her career as a singles star by becoming Ms. Money in the Bank in Canada this weekend.
#2. Bronson Reed needs his first main roster title
Bronson Reed is one of the most intimidating big men in pro wrestling today. He started his time in the company on NXT, where he held the North American Championship. Reed has since joined WWE's main roster after being re-hired by Triple H.
The Australian has been chasing the Intercontinental Championship over the past year. He challenged and failed to defeat Gunther for the gold and later tried to dethrone Sami Zayn in another unsuccessful attempt.
It is a shame that Reed has yet to hold a singles title on the main roster, but that should change in 2024. He could be the man to dethrone Sami Zayn or even capture the Speed Title. Regardless of which belt he wins, Bronson should hold gold soon, and Triple H needs to make it happen.
#1. Baron Corbin hasn't held a WWE main roster title in years
Baron Corbin has proved his worth to WWE fans courtesy of his stellar work on the developmental brand. While many looked down on the former United States Champion, he moved to NXT and reinvented himself. This led to Corbin winning the NXT Tag Team Title alongside Bron Breakker before being drafted to SmackDown.
Despite being with WWE for so long, Corbin has only held the above-mentioned titles. That means he has spent the majority of his time in the promotion without sniffing a championship. That could change in the Triple H era.
It has been nearly seven years since the former King of the Ring held a single title on the main roster. 2024 is the year to correct that, as Corbin is coming off a successful stint in NXT. Perhaps he could dethrone the current United States Champion, Logan Paul, or the latter's successor in the coming months.
