Triple H's plans for the biggest return of the year? 3 WWE Superstars who may turn face at SummerSlam 2024 and 2 who may turn heel

WWE has booked a solid card for SummerSlam 2024 this weekend. The show is set to feature six championship matches and a massive revenge bout. The upcoming Premium Live Event will host top names from RAW and SmackDown, including potential returns. Triple H may have special plans for some of them that could see unsuspecting superstars undergo massive changes in their on-screen characters.

Here, we look at three WWE Superstars who may turn babyface at SummerSlam 2024, and two may turn heel. So, without further ado, let's begin.

#1. May turn face at SummerSlam: Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns has not appeared on television since losing his Undisputed WWE Championship to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania XL. In his absence, Solo Sikoa took over as the new Tribal Chief of The Bloodline and revamped the faction into a more menacing group. Sikoa ordered an attack on Paul Heyman and arrogantly claimed Roman Reigns would have to acknowledge him, leading to fans chanting for the former Tribal Chief.

Those chants have only grown stronger as Solo Sikoa prepares to challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at SummerSlam. Many expect Reigns to return at the end of this match, and the former champion will walk out to a thunderous pop.

The creative team could capitalize on fans' eagerness to welcome back the former Tribal Chief and book him as a babyface as he looks to put Solo Sikoa in his place.

#2. May turn heel at SummerSlam: Randy Orton

Roman Reigns' potential return may finally allow Cody Rhodes to put his rivalry with The Bloodline to bed, or at least give it a much-needed pause. The American Nightmare will likely retain his Undisputed WWE Championship, but he may fall victim to a shocking betrayal. In his extended feud with The Bloodline on SmackDown, Cody found reliable allies in Randy Orton and Kevin Owens.

However, The Viper was caught eyeing Cody Rhodes' title on more than one occasion. It is worth noting that Randy Orton's shoulders were not pinned to the mat in the King of the Ring final, and he may feel he deserved that world title shot instead of Gunther. Thus, we could see Randy Orton launch a shocking attack on Cody Rhodes to set up their championship feud on SmackDown.

#3. May turn face at SummerSlam: Damian Priest

Damian Priest is set to defend his World Heavyweight Championship against Gunther. Not long ago, the Archer of Infamy claimed he didn't need the rest of The Judgement Day. Although he made up with his fellow members and apologized, all signs hint at Finn Balor planning a potential betrayal.

WWE has subtly pushed Priest as a babyface in his title feud with Gunther, which grew intense in a short period. We may see Balor cost Priest his championship at SummerSlam, allowing Gunther to win the World Heavyweight title. If not, Balor could attack Priest after he has retained his gold and set up The Judgment Day's implosion with the finale of his long-term scheme.

#4. May turn heel at SummerSlam: Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins will be the special guest referee in the grudge match between Drew McIntyre and CM Punk. The latter is finally medically cleared to compete and will lock horns with the Scottish Warrior following their brutally personal rivalry. The Architect repeatedly stated that he would have the final authority over everything in the match and could use it to his advantage.

Considering his rivalries with both superstars, Rollins is expected to use his opportunities to mess with McIntyre and Punk. However, he may go a step further and outright manipulate the match's result. Rollins' addition to this rivalry could set up a massive triple-threat match at Bad Blood and pave the way for a memorable heel run.

#5. May turn face at SummerSlam: Rhea Ripley

Following their brutal rivalry, Rhea Ripley will challenge Liv Morgan for the Women's World Championship at SummerSlam. Morgan grew closer to Dominik Mysterio in Ripley's absence. There were signs that Dirty Dom could betray Mami for Morgan, but he ruthlessly rejected the latter's heartfelt proposal on RAW. However, too much happened between Morgan and Dominik to rule out a potential betrayal.

Even if he "accidentally" costs Rhea Ripley her championship opportunity, the latter would likely turn babyface at SummerSlam. If not, we could also see Finn Balor betray his fellow Judgment Day member and help Morgan, turning Rhea Ripley face in the process.

Balor and Morgan were spotted together, and she even paved the way for him to win the Tag Team Championship alongside JD McDonagh. This angle could see Finn Balor, JD McDonagh, and Liv Morgan join forces in a feud against Damian Priest, Dominik Mysterio, and Rhea Ripley.
