Triple H to take the US Title off LA Knight; put it on absent WWE legend for 1 big reason? Exploring the possibility

Reigning WWE United States Champion LA Knight is a massive fan favorite. Multiple stars have been gunning for him and his US Championship on SmackDown. The Megastar has been a workhorse champion since he captured the title at SummerSlam 2024.

The 42-year-old defeated Logan Paul at SummerSlam 2024 to become United States Champion. Recently, The Megastar retained his gold against Carmelo Hayes and Andrade in a Triple Threat Match at the Crown Jewel Premium Live Event.

That said, despite being a fan favorite, Triple H might take the United States Championship off LA Knight in the coming months. Although Knight is an exceptional performer, he lacks competition. Since capturing the title, the SmackDown Superstar has seemingly been stuck in a loop with rivals Carmelo and Andrade.

Hence, The Game could book Knight and AJ Styles in a title feud and crown The Phenomenal One the new champion in the next few months. However, fans might have to wait a little longer for the dream match, as Styles might be out of action for an indefinite period after suffering a severe injury last month. If he does return soon, winning the US Title would be a great move for one major reason.

Many believe Styles is nearing the end of his legendary career. Meanwhile, John Cena will embark on a 12-month Retirement Tour next year. In a shocking twist, the Stamford-based company could book a Career vs. Career match between the former rivals.

The Franchise Player and The Phenomenal One had an iconic rivalry during the mid-2010s, and we might see an “End of an Era” kind of match between them during Cena's Farewell Tour. Additionally, inserting the US Championship into the picture would make it even more special, as Cena has a storied history with the title. That said, the angle is speculative at this point.

LA Knight alerted the WWE Universe ahead of last night's SmackDown

LA Knight is one of the few superstars in the Stamford-based promotion who stays in character even off television. However, ahead of the latest episode of Friday Night SmackDown, The Megastar seemingly broke his character to alert fans about ongoing social media scams.

Scammers creating fake profiles of WWE Superstars and looting fans has become a major issue in the age of social media. Knight informed his fans via his Instagram Stories that he would never text any of his followers or ask for money.

Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see what the Triple H-led creative team has in store for LA Knight's United States Championship reign.
