For the past few months, NXT Champion Adam Cole has been encountering several challengers for the title. After defeating Pete Dunne for the gold at WWE Survivor Series, the leader of The Undisputed Era is once again set to put his title on the line on the December 18th edition of WWE NXT.

With so many potential opponents for the champion, NXT General Manager William Regal announced on tonight's show that a triple threat match will determine the next contender for Adam Cole's title. Next week, it is going to be Keith Lee, Tommaso Ciampa and Finn Balor in a triple threat match and the winner of that battle will go on to face Adam Cole for the NXT Championship on December 18.

NXT Championship match is set

Although Adam Cole doesn't seem too excited to put his title on the line against either of the three, William Regal has left him with no other option. Now that Keith Lee has a pinfall over the NXT Champion he is rightfully in line for the title opportunity. Also, Ciampa is owed a shot at the gold and The Blackheart has been aiming at reuniting with Goldie since his return.

On the other hand, Finn Balor made it clear that he stands alone and he has the opportunity to be at the top of the Black and Gold brand if he can pull off just two more victories.

Keith Lee and Tommaso Ciampa were partners tonight on NXT but the complexion will be entirely different for next week's episode.
