Twitter reacts to the passing of Bruno Sammartino

At the age of 82, the legendary Bruno Sammartino has passed away. To call Sammartino a legend would be the understatement of the century. The Pittsburgh native is one of the all-time greats of the professional wrestling industry and was a hero to millions and millions back in his day. He's held the WWE Championship(then known as the WWF Championship) for a record 4040 days combined, a record that may likely never be broken.

Very sad to hear that Bruno Sammartino has passed away. I always thought it was so cool that I shared a birthday with the legend himself. Few leave the kind of legacy that he does.

Very saddened to hear of the passing of Bruno Sammartino. Walter”Killer” Kowalski always spoke so highly of him. An absolute legend in our industry in every sense of the word. They just don’t make men like that anymore. Godspeed sir. 😢

We overuse the term "legend." But, in this case, it absolutely applies. pic.twitter.com/0OhlX1ie82

Bruno is indirectly responsible for where I am today. Growing up in Pittsburgh, he was my father’s hero, and sparked my dad’s passion for the business that he passed on to me.
