Unlikely name to help Drew McIntyre if CM Punk interferes at Clash at the Castle? Exploring potential swerve
Drew McIntyre has a huge match ahead of him at Clash at the Castle. The Scottish Warrior is scheduled to take on Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Champion. The 39-year-old will be laser-focused on defeating his opponent, but he must remain wary of the potential threat that his mortal enemy, CM Punk poses. However, he may not have to worry too much, as he could receive some help from an unlikely name.
The unlikely name in question, is Damian Priest's Judgment Day stable mate, Finn Balor. The Prince is barred from ringside, but could unsuspectingly assist Drew McIntyre by taking out CM Punk. Should The Best in the World make an appearance and try to interfere with the match, Balor could try and stop him, much to the surprise of Priest.
If this should come to pass, Balor will likely be under the impression that Punk is coming out to screw over Damian Priest. The reality is, it's far more likely that The Voice of the Voiceless will try and distract Drew McIntyre. But, there is a chance that Balor, assuming he is helping Priest, will try and stop Punk, which could ultimately lead to The Archer of Infamy's demise.
Priest will undoubtedly be confused by Balor's acts, and in that split second, McIntyre could take advantage and steal the win. But, at the end of the day, this is all just speculation. There is no telling what's in store for Priest, Balor, Punk, McIntyre, or the WWE Universe at Clash at the Castle.
Drew McIntyre recently claimed that CM Punk is a "genuinely terrible person"
It's not news that Drew McIntyre isn't the biggest fan of CM Punk. Ever since The Voice of the Voiceless made his return at Survivor Series last year, McIntyre has come out time and time again to bash him. This resulted in several sensational back-and-forths between the two, and ultimately, actions on Punk's part that cost The Scottish Warrior some big matches.
Recently, in an interview with The Indian Express, McIntyre commented on his relationship with Punk. He stated that he still despises the 45-year-old and is hurt both professionally and personally by something that happened back when he was much younger. But, he went even further, and claimed that Punk is a "genuinely terrible person".
The two will likely clash in the ring one-on-one at some point soon. When that will happen is something that remains to be seen, but it is on the cards. But, if one thing is for sure, there will be no love lost between the two when they finally do exchange blows.
