Unstoppable big man, beloved champion, and more - 4 feuds for Cody Rhodes on WWE NXT

Cody Rhodes is on top of the world as the Undisputed WWE Champion. This means he's the top champion on the biggest brand in the largest company in all of professional wrestling. Needless to say, that's a good spot to be in.

He won the prized world title by defeating Roman Reigns at WrestleMania. He has since successfully retained the belt against both AJ Styles and Logan Paul. Rhodes now has another title defense this Saturday, but he made an interesting stop first.

The American Nightmare appeared on NXT this week and had a few notable segments with Trick Williams, Shawn Spears, and Jacy Jayne, among others. During his segment with Trick, in particular, fans were seemingly urging them to book a match against each other.

While Cody is the top dog of SmackDown, there is a possibility that he could have a feud while on NXT. This article will take a look at four stars from the white and gold brand who would be most likely to stand toe-to-toe with the reigning top champion of the entire company.

Below are four possible feuds for Cody Rhodes on WWE NXT.

#4. He has history with Ethan Page

Ethan Page is one of WWE's most recent signings. The former Ring of Honor star was previously with Tony Khan's All Elite Wrestling but opted to leave the promotion. He has since jumped ship to NXT and became a big deal almost immediately.

During WWE NXT this week, Cody Rhodes had an already infamous segment with Ethan Page, Lexis King, and Shawn Spears. It was a nod to their past in All Elite Wrestling and many believe it was a shot at Tony Khan and his misuse of talent.

AEW isn't the only place Ego and Rhodes have history, though. The two were tag team champions together and had formed a friendship at one time. This could make a match between the pair of talented performers on NXT all that much more intriguing.

#3. Wes Lee is one of WWE's most talented performers

Wes Lee is an absurdly athletic and pugnacious WWE Superstar. He has been with the company for several years now, has held the NXT Tag Team Titles, and is often regarded as the greatest NXT North American Champion in history.

The talented Lee is somebody many fans believed would never grace a ring again. He had to step away from WWE due to a serious back injury but recovered at a quicker pace than anybody could have anticipated.

Lee is so unbelievably skillful and smooth in the ring that he'd certainly have classics with a star like Cody Rhodes. The two fighting it out now could be a preview of big things to come in the future.

#2. Oba Femi is seemingly unbeatable

Oba Femi is one of the brightest prospects in all of WWE. He is a monster of a man who has sudden speed fans wouldn't expect. Above all else, he is freakishly strong and has an intense persona that led him to the NXT North American Championship.

The big man has successfully defeated anybody who comes in his path. His most recent NXT North American Championship defense came at WWE NXT Battleground where he defeated both Joe Coffey and Wes Lee.

Cody Rhodes appreciates a challenge and there is arguably no bigger challenge in NXT than Oba Femi. Could The American Nightmare stop the Nigerian monster or could Oba Femi's rapid rise to the top continue at Cody's expense?

#1. Trick Williams is an extreme over-performer

As noted, during Cody Rhodes' time on NXT last night, he was in a segment with Trick Williams. It was quite an interesting one too, as both men are incredibly popular and fans were sitting at the edge of their seats taking in the conversation.

At one point there was a moment of tension where it seemed as if Trick Williams wanted a shot at The American Nightmare and his Undisputed WWE Title. The moment was only fleeting, however, and Rhodes quickly changed the subject.

Despite that, the audience certainly seemed behind the idea. There is a chance Ava or Shawn Michaels could book a Cody Rhodes vs. Trick Williams match with one or both titles on the line. It would be historic and something fans never forget.
