Their first match opened the live event in San Diego and was 25 minutes long. The match opened the show so that Cena fans were prevented from asking for refunds due to him not being present. As reported, the WWE offered refunds for the first 20 minutes as Cena fans wanted to leave owing to his absence. The subsequent shows in Ontario and Fresno were main evented by Jericho and Owens due to top stars not being there as both Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose were moved to another tour after they worked the first night in San Diego.
