[VIDEO] Dean Ambrose describes his tough journey to the WWE World Heavyweight Championship
Two new WWE World Heavyweight champions were crowned at Money In The Bank 2016 but only one left the ring with the belt. Dean Ambrose won the MITB ladder match and cashed in his briefcase immediately after Seth Rollins won the title from Roman Reigns.
The victory has taken Ambrose to seventh heaven, and he was quick in crediting a lot of people who have stuck by him and given him immense support on his journey to the top. His path to glory involved walking on thorns as he mentions, having to confront many personal hurdles.
The boy who sold popcorn and helped set up wrestling rings as a teenager now has the world title in his hands. Working up the ladder he wrestled at Combat Zone Wrestling during his initial days. The Lunatic Fringe has his hardcore roots in CZW where he learnt the extreme style of wrestling.
Ambrose has also wrestled for Ring Of Honor and Dragon Gate USA before making an entry to Florida Championship Wrestling (now NXT) which was the development territory for new wrestlers in the WWE.
Being the last member of the Shield to win the world title he still received the highest cheers from the fans. This leaves doors open to new rivalries and new matches.
