Video - Rollins apologizes to Sting during Night of Champions match

Seth Rollins vs Sting at NOC may have been Sting’s final hurrah

We have been reporting on the condition of Sting and the injury he sustained following his title match against Seth Rollins in the main-event of Sunday’s Night of Champions PPV. ‘The Icon’ suffered injuries to his neck and spine following a buckle bomb at the hands of Rollins near the close of the match.

This was after he had been driven through the Spanish announce table where he landed hard with his head hitting the monitor. The sum of the injuries may force Sting into retirement, if talks are to be believed. If that happens to be the case, it would be quite disappointing for us and especially Rollins who was responsible for delivering the move on the 56-year old Sting.

In the below video, if heard closely, you can hear Seth Rollins apologizing to Sting immediately after delivering the buckle bomb. By the looks of it, Sting seemed to have been driven too hard into the corner by Rollins, who straight away realises his folly and mutters "My Bad!". This is the second time this year that Rollins has been caught on the mic breaking character, after he was caught whispering ‘Thank You’ to Roman Reigns when he pinned him for the WWE title at Wrestlemania 31 earlier this year.

If indeed, this is what causes Sting to retire from in-ring action, Rollins will have a major load to bear in the coming years. However, in a sport as physically demanding as pro-wrestling, these kind of accidents are far too common and an argument can be made about the wisdom of having the veteran Sting take bumps of such nature to begin with.
