Vince McMahon Jr. has been running the WWE since taking it over from his father in 1982. Since then he has played a hand in every detail of the WWE.

To this day the show is very much his – everything from calling commentary through Michael Cole or JBL, setting up storylines for the wrestlers, even what the wrestlers say – is only given to them once Vince gives the final okay.

While on TV everyone pretends Shane and Daniel Bryan and Stephanie and Mick Foley are in charge of their respective brands, it is really Vince McMahon playing puppet master with your favourite wrestlers. He is the man behind the curtain of the WWE Universe.

But how much is Vince McMahon really worth?

Vince, of course, gets a paycheck for all his hard work with the WWE which according to the Stamford Advocate is at about 3.3 million. That makes him the 4th highest paid WWE employee.

According to Forbes Vince just recently became a billionaire again, with a net worth of 1.1 billion dollars. This happened after Wrestlemania when the WWE stock went up to 18% (it is currently at 19.96). Vince owns 52% of the company’s stock.

One of the biggest reasons for the stock's growth is the success of the WWE Network, which goes for $9.99 a subscriber with 1.22 million subscribers. With more and more content being put up and rumours of WWE buying TNA’s video library, this number will most likely only go up from here.

When Vince became a billionaire in April, he was actually making up for a huge hit he took with the launch of the WWE Network. When subscriber rates were down at first, investors started to pull money out, dropping his net worth by $750 million dollars – from $1.6 Billion to about $850 Million dollars. The losses included a $350 Million loss in a single day.

The network is now doing much better and made $160 million dollars last year alone, according to Forbes.

Vince has also worked out a pretty good television deal. Recently WWE have reworked their deal with NBC Universal and USA Network.

First, they decided to move SmackDown to USA Network, hoping to get better ratings there. Then when ratings were still down they switched to the current two brand format and made Smackdown live on Tuesdays.

This deal was, according to Bleacher Report, worth $200 million for $160 million from the United States – about $3 million a week for both RAW and Smackdown Live.

With all this money coming in, Vince enjoys the finer things in life. He lives in a three-storey, seven-bedroom house with a pool worth 40 million, in Greenwich, Connecticut. He also owns a 20 million dollar vacation home and a 12 million dollar penthouse in Manhattan, according to Heavy.

Vince likes to travel in style; it doesn’t matter if by land or sea or air, he has it covered. He owns a 2010 Bentley Continental GT worth $189,000. His 47-foot yacht Sexy Bitch, plus his own personal jet and limousine (he must have replaced the one that blew up), add up to his list of assets.

Vince has, of course, lost plenty of money in his day. He has XFL, his failed arena football league from the early 2000s – the first game was held in 2001 but it quickly folded after attention dwindled.

His wife Linda McMahon has also run two of the most expensive Senate Campaigns in United States history. Her campaign for a Connecticut Senate Seat ended up costing the family $100 million dollars to run her failed election.

Don’t worry though, it doesn’t look like the WWE or McMahon is going down. WWE is making progress by leaps and bounds, and looking into a new streaming service at a tiered rate, which would only help the streaming service get more fans. Plus WWE continues touring year round.

It is hard to imagine WWE being in any financial trouble anytime soon.
