Backstage news on Solomon Crowe's exit and the plans WWE had for him
According to reports, WWE had big plans for former NXT star Solomon Crowe, before he left the company on a mutual consent.
Crowe, who had stints with Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG), Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW), Squared Championship Wrestling (2CW), and All American Wrestling (AAW) before coming to WWE’s developmental brand NXT, wanted to be released from the company last November and got what he wanted.
It was revealed that Crowe was supposed to be the next big thing in NXT, but left after he felt that he would still make more money by leaving the company even though he is about to get a push. Crowe had a hacker gimmick with which he controls the lights and the LEDs of the arena using a tablet.
But he was booked poorly as he featured in dark matches before NXT events for two years before making his debut on television in 2015. He was not a hit among the fans and this might be the reason why WWE had to book like they did.
After leaving the company, he made a return to Independent circuits with his real name Sami Callihan. With age on his side, Crowe can make a return to WWE in the future if he wants to do so.
