King Barrett's surprising response to his 'Superstar of the Year' nomination
Wade Barrett is an undoubted talent and is one of the most popular wrestlers of the year due to his antics which have earned him a Slammy nomination for Superstar of the Year. But the Englishman doesn’t think he’s worthy of the award and made his feelings known to WWE on social media – reports dailywrestlingnews.com.
Barrett took to social networking site Twitter to tweet to WWE, who just recently made the entire roster legible for the Slammy Superstar of the Year award and sent out a tweet promoting Barrett’s nomination. We believe Barrett made it clear that he doesn’t think himself worthy of the award.
Go home @WWE, you're drunk. https://t.co/qagOAGFWhp

In his defence, Barrett has had quite a memorable year, but that doesn’t really justify him winning a Slammy (the first of which he won in 2010 for Shocker of the Year) as compared to his other, more deserving colleagues.
On the other hand, Barrett has had his fair share of the limelight in 2015, with his most memorable moments coming during SummerSlam, where he teamed up with Stardust to take on Neville and Arrow star Stephen Amell.
Not to forget his public humiliation at the hands of Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney, who decked the wrestler for insulting him and his son during a RAW taping at the Manchester Arena.
That’s not to say that Barrett, whose real name is Stuart Bennett, is a shoddy wrestler, and has won – among other things – five WWE Intercontinental Championships as well as the debut season of NXT.
