Was Seth Rollins' decision to walk away on Ambrose and Reigns right?
On the latest episode of Raw, the WWE Universe witnessed the sequel to the epic Elimination Chamber encounter between The Shield and the Wyatt Family, this match had equal intensity and drama that was heightened by Seth Rollins decision to walk away from the match. His decision wasn’t out of betrayal but because he had got tired of being “the glue that keeps this (Reigns and Ambrose) together,” additionally telling them to “figure it out” themselves.
After being one man down, Ambrose and Reigns did fire all their cylinders and did their best to take down all three members of the Wyatt Family, but eventually the numbers game proved decisive as the Wyatt Family defeated The Shield again, and Rollins watched all this from the entrance ramp.
Later, it was known that Rollins has left the building after the match without telling either of his partners – Ambrose and Reigns. Rollins performed this action after none of his partners were present in their corner to take the tag from him, who was wrestling since the bell rung. Why Ambrose and Reigns weren’t in the corner? Because Ambrose went after Bray Wyatt and Reigns went after him to fetch him back to their corner leaving their partner, Rollins, to suffer more at the hands of Harper and Rowan.

Rollins, in that match, wrestled with all that he had and on seeing that instead of being present in his corner his partners are involved somewhere else, when he has been worn down, acted as the last straw for the already tired Rollins, who has been acting as a pacifier during the egotistical differences between Ambrose and Reigns for several weeks.
That role of a pacifier also diminished Rollins’ role in the team, it looked like he is there only to hold his partners together so that The Shield could last longer, but his efforts didn’t come to fruition as they failed to beat their biggest opponents – The Wyatt Family, twice. Both the times, The Shield were left with only two members in the end, the Wyatt Family knew where The Shield’s weakness lies and they exploited it, they worked on increasing the dissension between them. These loses meant that Rollins efforts to keep his team together proved futile in the end, as a result he couldn’t keep up with the match and he chose to walk away.

One might argue that Rollins should’ve come back in the match when Ambrose and Reigns started dominating the Wyatt Family but it seems like Rollins wanted to see how his teammates, who have been involved in egotistical arguments over past several weeks, fight together once there is no one to keep them together, though at one moment Ambrose and Reigns did show off their teamwork, but they couldn’t stretch this team spirit further.
So, in the end, Rollins decision to walk away makes sense because he is as much talented as the other two and they don’t owe him anything. He did his best to hold his teammates together for several weeks, but this moment where Rollins would get fed up of his ‘pacifier’ role was never too far. This move also forces Ambrose and Reigns to think where they went wrong over and over. Will they be able to sort out their differences or will they fall out for good, only time will tell.
