WATCH: 5 times on-screen WWE couples betrayed one another

Romantic storylines have always been an integral part of WWE. Over the years, we have seen several superstars engage in a romantic story on television. However, oftentimes, these relationships do not work, and the lovebirds end up betraying one another.

Recently, Dominik Mysterio turned on his Mami Rhea Ripley at SummerSlam, helping The Nightmare's opponent Liv Morgan to retain the Women's World Championship. The former NXT North American Champion later locked lips with The Miracle Kid.

Rhea and Dominik had been an on-screen pair since 2022, but after The Eradicator got injured and relinquished her Women's World Title in April 2024, Liv started approaching Dom. Although Mysterio resisted at first, he finally embraced Morgan at The Biggest Party of The Summer.

In another instance, Lita and Matt Hardy were dating in real life in the mid-2000s, and WWE decided to acknowledge their relationship and pair them together. But Lita ended up cheating on Matt with The Rated R Superstar Edge in real life. Later, WWE incorporated the real-life drama into a storyline, which made Edge one of the biggest heels in the company.
