What does the future hold for Carlito in WWE? The Judgment Day member’s status revealed after recent controversy
WWE Superstar Carlito has sparked unwanted conversations that could jeopardize his career. This past week on Monday Night RAW, he went off the script and made controversial remarks toward two female wrestlers: IYO SKY and Kairi Sane of Damage CTRL.
Carlito saw the two superstars walking out of RAW General Manager Adam Pearce's room, and as they got out of the room, The Judgement Day member, while addressing Pearce, said that he needed to learn "Chinese." This was wrong because the two wrestlers were from Japan. His comment reportedly received enormous heat from WWE backstage, and it was said that action might be taken against him. However, according to a recent report, Carlito's comment will not change his status in the company.
This means that the former United States Champion will not be pulled off the air or penalized for his actions, even though an internal sensitivity training class is expected from him.
Reports later emerged that WWE staff were also taken aback by Carlito's choice of words, as it wasn't anywhere in the script. A source who spoke to Bill Apter of Sportskeeda said that the line was completely "unscripted," and that was from Carlito. WWE later had to chop out the controversial part to prevent further backlash at the company.
Surprisingly, it was also reported that IYO SKY and Kairi Sane didn't take any offense to Carlito's words and simply brushed them off. Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Live reported that a source told him that the Damage CTRL members had no problem with that remark.
Why did Carlito reach out to WWE RAW GM Adam Pearce?
The Caribbean Cool came to Pearce to discuss his Judgement Day member, Dominik Mysterio, and his aspirations to become the next challenger to Gunther's World Heavyweight Championship.
Carlito asked Pearce to give Dom a chance, but the RAW GM simply laughed it off. He said Dirty Dom hasn't done anything to deserve a title shot at the World Heavyweight Champion.
Carlito pleaded with Pearce before he eventually agreed, saying Dom could face the former World Heavyweight Champion (Damian Priest) next week on RAW to qualify for the championship match.
Carlito later told Dominik and company that he got his No.1 Contenders match next week against a former World Champion. When Dom asked who that was, Carlito appeared clueless. Dom, Morgan, and Raquel Rodriguez simply walked out of disgust with Carlito.
While Dominik might have achieved what he wanted, things drastically turned up for Carlito this week. It remains to be seen how the promotion will proceed with Carlito's role as a Judgement Day member.
