What happened after Raw went off the air? (December 19th, 2016)
The latest edition of Monday Night Raw saw Braun Strowman decimate Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins to end the show. This led to Reigns & Rollins winning by disqualification. However, the night did not end there. Reigns and Rollins recovered enough to get some payback on their rivals, Owens and Jericho.
As seen, Reigns and Rollins locked both the best friends inside the shark tank and had it raised. Once they did that, they started tossing the key around, and The Architect even threw the key down his pants.
This was the second time on the night that Jericho was locked inside the shark cage. It was first introduced by Raw General Manager Mick Foley, who announced that Kevin Owens and Roman Reigns would be facing again at the Royal Rumble for the Universal Championship. The stipulation is that Chris Jericho will be inside a shark cage that will be suspended above the ring.
The move was made in the storyline to prevent Chris Jericho from interfering in the match. All of Kevin Owens’ successful title defences, since being crowned Champion, have been with Chris Jericho’s help.
In the main event, Braun Strowman came out to attack the competitors in the ring. In the storyline, he was furious at Mick Foley about the finish of his Roadblock match with Sami Zayn and threatened to take action until he got Sami Zayn in the ring again.
Earlier in the night, he attacked Sin Cara and Titus O’ Neil and threw Sin Cara off the entrance ramp onto the Christmas tree and everything surrounding it. Owens and Jericho weren’t attacked by Strowman because they got out of the way in time. They threw Roman Reigns back in the ring to get further assaulted by Strowman.
Here are the highlights of the main event tonight.
