What to expect from Cody Rhodes now that he's 'fired'
Ladies and gentlemen! Cody Rhodes has been fired by Triple H.
Apart from this being a getaway for a honeymoon for the soon-to-be married Rhodes, this action that took place hours ago on RAW seems to be very promising for the young Rhodes. He was arguably the superstar of the show, and that’s a tough accomplishment given that Orton and Bryan are shining in their new roles and Triple H is back to his natural habitat of being a heel.
The match really got interesting towards the last few minutes, and even though it was inevitable that he would lose, it was essential for Rhodes to gain support and empathy from those watching. It was essential because that would be better for both Orton and Triple H’s heel characters, and for Rhodes’s push towards a title picture. Rhodes has been in the talks, among fans and some from the company, of having a great future for quite some time now. And maybe now his time has come.
His backstage promo before leaving was endearing and funny at the same time, and it might have been just enough to be worth the wait for his return.
This was the third consecutive week when Daniel Bryan was left out cold by the Shield, Randy Orton and the McMahons. This has been a wonderful storyline and the only glitch this week or the only complaint that I have is with the Big Show. Watching him cry did not make me feel a thing. It was really really boring. And why did he have a problem with wrestling Bryan when the latter clearly was up for a match?
Anyway, we can rest assured that Bryan is not going to be vanquished every week, there will come a time when the conquered will rise and raise their voices, and there will come a time when rebellion will come full throttle on the McMahons and the face of the company. That’s where I see Cody Rhodes returning. And as he had a striking exit, I expect him to have a majestic return as well. It’ll be sometime till we see Rhodes returning to action. Hopefully it is going to be less than a month. Till then Daniel Bryan and the rest of the locker room will suffer, and it’s good in a way to exploit the heel characters even more.
This has been the most exciting few episodes from WWE. The corporate angle is really striking a chord. It’s great to see how the WWE is handling John Cena’s absence. This angle has promising young stars like The Shield involved. Cody Rhodes will have a role to play, as this angle is expected to run through to Wrestlemania. Daniel Bryan’s pursuit for the title has been the most exciting thing about the WWE title since the Summer of Punk.
And maybe, just maybe, Cody Rhodes might get involved in the title picture as well if Daniel Bryan somehow is stopped and swished aside for quite sometime. For now, Daniel Bryan belongs to the title picture, but if the WWE finds some way in getting even more interest in Bryan, they might give him somewhat of a break from the title picture and meanwhile Cody Rhodes could enter the scene, and as we already have witnessed, Orton and Rhodes have great chemistry in the ring.
On a side note, Triple H is really awesome in this new avatar as he mocks most of the ideas that hardcore fans have been circulating for a few years now. And I think that this angle and this storyline, in his own words, is good for business!
