What if Seth Rollins led a new WWE faction inspired by The Shield? Exploring major RAW and SmackDown teasers
Last week on Monday Night RAW, fans saw Seth Rollins and CM Punk come face-to-face and engage in a heated argument. Things quickly got physical, as The Visionary shoved The Best in The World down. The ongoing feud with Punk may lead Rollins to form a new faction inspired by The Shield.
Last night's RAW saw both men express their feelings about one another, with The Second City Saint calling The Architect "second string" and revealing that he knew The Visionary from when Seth was a 16-year-old boy who approached the former AEW star for free training.
In response, Rollins stated that he considered The Best in The World as his friend before Punk left the company and ghosted him along with others. Seth also mentioned that CM Punk stained WWE’s name at every given opportunity and deteriorated the bond between the two stars.
For weeks, eagle-eyed fans have been collecting subtle hints that may pave the way for Seth Rollins to form a new faction in the mold of The Shield with Drew McIntyre and Kevin Owens. The latest episode of the red brand saw McIntyre reveal he attacked Sami Zayn and Jey Uso last week because the duo teamed up with Roman Reigns. The Scottish Warrior will lock horns with The Underdog of The Underground at Saturday Night's Main Event.
Meanwhile, The Prizefighter turned on Cody Rhodes two months ago after The American Nightmare teamed up with the OTC at Bad Blood.
All three superstars share the same agenda and vision, which might eventually bring them together, and Rollins’ potential new version of The Shield could target the entire roster. This could also add an intriguing layer to Seth and Punk’s storyline. That said, this is just conjecture at this point.
CM Punk to face Seth Rollins in a singles match at WrestleMania 41?
CM Punk and Seth Rollins have finally kicked off their much-awaited feud. Notably, the two superstars were reportedly slated to lock horns at WrestleMania 40. However, the plans were allegedly put on hold after The Best in The World sustained a real-life injury at the 2024 Royal Rumble.
Before Punk’s return to WWE TV after a brief hiatus last month, The Architect was engaged in a feud with "Big" Bronson Reed. However, the Australian Monster is now sidelined due to a real-life injury, and the Stamford-based promotion seemingly advanced the plans for Seth Rollins vs. CM Punk, and most likely, both men will face each other at WrestleMania 41.
However, this is speculative at this point. It will be interesting to see what the Triple H-led creative team has in store for the bitter rivals in the coming months.
