Where does Randy Orton head after the TLC victory?
Randy Orton emerged as our new WWE Heavyweight Champion in an intense match with John Cena at TLC. The match wasn’t one of the best, but was entertaining enough. With Orton as the Champion, it is every fan’s curiosity to know who will challenge Orton for his Championship as the Viper looks set to enter New Year as the WWE Champion for the second time.
It is obvious that John Cena will have a rematch with him soon. But, how many of us really want to see Cena vs. Orton again?! It has always been a good rivalry but the fans have grown bored of it and now they want to see a new challenger for Orton’s title. We have Royal Rumble next, and it is expected that Orton will be facing Cena again for his Championship. In that case, WWE needs to present a great match between these two at Royal Rumble, a match which will live up to its hype unlike TLC.
No matter who wins this match, we will see Orton and Cena again at Elimination Chamber with four other superstars who possibly will be out of CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, Sheamus (if he’s able to return around Rumble), Rey Mysterio and Big Show; with one of them already winning the Royal Rumble. Since, we have only one big title now in the WWE, only the best superstars will be involved in this match. With the competition heating up for the title, it will be exciting to see that for how long Orton holds onto his title.
What will be more exciting to see is with whom Orton feuds after Cena. Backed by the Authority, will Orton revive his rivalry with Bryan or will he have a feud with Punk? Either will be entertaining, especially for those who don’t want to see another Orton-Cena feud. A hint of another rivalry with Bryan was seen in the last edition of Raw where he faced Bryan in the main event match. The episode ended with Orton holding his titles high and Bryan and Cena lying down in the ring. It becomes important now that WWE show us why they have Randy Orton as their Champion and face of the company. This can only be done by involving Orton in some powerfully entertaining matches with the best wrestlers of the company. Orton needs to show the WWE Universe why he is the Champion of the WWE.
If they want to keep Orton as heel they can surely do that, but they have to bring the old ruthless Orton back. Fans loved that Orton and if they bring him back then those who hate Orton right now won’t any longer. He needs to put up great matches and like it’s said “With great power comes great responsibility”, it’s time for Orton to step up, take his responsibilities and defend his title like a Champion.
With WrestleMania approaching, now is the time for WWE to set up the stage for the big event, and since Orton is the face of the WWE and his title represents the whole of WWE, it becomes necessary for Orton to deliver big at “The Grandest Stage of Them All”.
