Where is Drew McIntyre? Reason why he hasn't returned to WWE; it's not just his injury
Former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre last appeared on television at the 2024 Bad Blood PLE where his intense rivalry with CM Punk came to an end. Both superstars locked horns inside the brutal Hell in a Cell structure. However, the match didn’t end in favor of The Scottish Warrior as Punk emerged victorious after knocking McIntyre out with a GTS, with a steel chain wrapped around his knee.
Amid his extended hiatus, the WWE Universe has been wondering what has kept the former champion away. Fans and analysts have been predicting multiple causes, with one of the most frequently mentioned reasons being that he is injured.
However, according to a report by Fighful Select, CM Punk’s absence after Bad Blood was planned. Meanwhile, sources were unable to tell if McIntyre’s break was planned or not. It was noted the 39-year-old needed time to recover from the battle scar he got from his Hell in a Cell match against The Voice of the Voiceless. Additionally, he has been visiting family in Europe and has recently experienced some personal losses, which has kept him away from WWE.
