Which upcoming matches were revealed at AEW's Double Or Nothing?
After months of anticipation, especially among the Internet Wrestling Community, All Elite Wrestling brought to us its first ever pay-per-view, Double Or Nothing, from MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. At a time when the biggest wrestling promotion in the world, WWE, is struggling in almost every front, including TV ratings, live attendance numbers and talent retention, wrestling desperately needed an alternative.
AEW, founded by Tony Khan and its Executive Vice Presidents Cody, The Young Bucks, and Kenny Omega, was highly talked about as that alternative. The inclusion of established talents like Chris Jericho and The Lucha Bros (Fenix and Pentagon Jr.) was certainly a shot in the arm to the promotion.
It can now be concluded that AEW's first ever pay-per-view, Double Or Nothing is a bona fide success, with overwhelming fan reactions at the arena and the early reviews being extremely favorable. However, this is only the beginning and the promotion has a long road ahead.
They have already given signs of long-term booking as during the course of the show, possibly three upcoming matches were revealed. Let's find out which ones they were.
#3 Cody and Dustin Rhodes v/s The Young Bucks
In what was one of the most emotional matches you will ever see, the Executive Vice President of AEW, Cody, squared off against his elder brother, Dustin Rhodes (formerly known as Goldust). The match was received extremely well by the crowd.
Finally, Cody managed to win this brilliant and bloody battle of the brothers. It was reported by some websites that this could be Dustin Rhodes' final match and that he would hang up his boots after this.
However, after the match, Cody delivered an emotional promo and announced that this was not his brother's retirement match. He further announced that at Fight For The Fallen pay-per-view, scheduled on July 13, 2019 in Jacksonville, Florida, he is supposed to face The Young Bucks along with a partner of his choice. Cody emphatically told the world that he does not a partner, but needs his elder brother.
