Who is WWE star Jacob Fatu’s father?

Jacob Fatu is inarguably WWE's breakout superstar of 2024. The Samoan Werewolf made an impact in his debut when he ambushed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, and Kevin Owens on SmackDown.

Fatu, through his actions and remarkable wrestling skills, has only carried his father's legacy, WWE legend Samuel Larry Anoa'i, aka Sam Fatu. He is the twin brother of Hall of Famer Rikishi and nephew of Roman Reigns' father, Sika Anoa'i and Afa Anoa'i, also known as The Wild Samoans.

Jacob Fatu's father, Sam Fatu, debuted in 1983 after being trained by the Wild Samoans. He went on to wrestle for different promotions, including WWE, WCW, ECW, and other independent wrestling promotions.

He made his WWE TV debut in 1983 as The Tonga Kid billed as the cousin of Superfly Jimmy Snuka. His first major feud was with the legendary Roddy Piper, who was Snuka's top rival at the time. However, Fatu soon left the WWE to fight at other wrestling promotions.

Fatu returned to the company the following year, and this time, he competed under the ring name King Tonga. He teamed up with Tonga Fifita and was renamed Tama, while Fifita got the name Haku. Their team was called The Islanders.

Their partnership worked well, as they had an aggressive wrestling style. He stayed in the promotion for the next few years and left in 1988.

Jacob Fatu's father, Sam Fatu, joined WCW in 1990

Sam Fatu briefly performed for the World Wrestling Council in 1989 before making it to Ted Turner's WCW, another hot wrestling promotion.

He adopted the ring name The Samoan Savage and teamed up with Rikishi and Samu, known as the Samoan SWAT team.

Later, when Samu left the team, Sam Fatu and Rikishi renamed it The New Wild Samoans. The duo left WCW in 1990.

He did return to WWE in 1993, but only for a few house shows. After that, he mainly wrestled at independent circuits. In 1998, he performed for ECW in three matches. He continued wrestling at independent circuits until he retired in 2011.

And now his son, Jacob Fatu, is riding waves in WWE. The Samoan Werewolf is trending hot in the current WWE roster, and there are already rumors of him battling top WWE Superstars like Cody Rhodes, Bron Breakker, Randy Orton, and Kevin Owens.
