Why did AJ Styles turn down a TNA Hall of Fame induction offer? Exploring the truth
The Hall of Fame is an honor for any professional wrestler, and recently AJ Styles was offered a spot. Now granted, it wasn't in the WWE Hall of Fame, but TNA. As a huge part of TNA's early success, the company was hoping to pay homage to The Phenomenal One by having him enshrined in their hall. However, Styles turned down the opportunity. The question is, why?
In the last 24 hours, there has been plenty of speculation as to why AJ Styles turned down the chance to go into the TNA Hall of Fame. There were reports suggesting that WWE turned it down for him, citing his current injury status and the existing storylines. However, it has since come to light that the former two-time WWE Champion himself rejected the offer, as he did not wish to go in as an active wrestler.
Taking to X, AJ Styles commented on the whole TNA Hall of Fame situation. He put out a tweet clarifying that it wasn't WWE who rejected the offer. He confirmed that he turned it down simply because he is still an active wrestler. He further added that while he does appreciate TNA, he has no intention of entering any Hall of Fame until he is well and ready to hang up his wrestling gear.
There is no doubt that Styles will enter a slew of Hall of Fames someday. After all, TNA, WWE, and NJPW will surely come calling. Till then though, he will continue mesmerizing audiences in the ring with his phenomenal skills and abilities.
AJ Styles' WWE return was hampered by an injury on SmackDown
While AJ Styles is still an active wrestler, he hasn't been seen in the squared circle in quite a while. His last major WWE PLE was Clash at the Castle, where he failed to take the WWE Undisputed Championship from Cody Rhodes. Since then, he's made a few Live Show appearances and even returned to Japan where he performed at Pro Wrestling Noah's Destination 2024.
Since then, fans have been awaiting The Phenomenal One's return, and he did make a brief one when SmackDown rolled into Nashville, Tenessee. Styles actually opened the show to the roar of the crowd and even had a match against Carmelo Hayes. Unfortunately, an awkward landing during a particular maneuver forced the match to be ended early, as Styles was taken backstage for treatment.
It was later revealed that he had suffered a Lisfranc injury, which means he will be out for a while. Nevertheless, if his recent statements are anything to go by, he still plans to continue wrestling. So with that in mind, it would be best to keep your ears open, because you never know when and where his music will hit.
