Why Becky Lynch’s suspension could be to protect her WrestleMania match against Ronda Rousey
Becky Lynch is undoubtedly the fastest rising star within the WWE in the past year. From her feud with a former friend, Charlotte Flair, to her leading the invasion of the SmackDown Live Women’s division before Survivor Series.
This week on Monday Night Raw, Lynch was invited by Stephanie McMahon to discuss her injury and how she should see doctors for clearance, as she is in no condition to compete.
After Stephanie threatened to take Lynch out of the match and suspend her following her refusal to seek medical attention, she attacked Stephanie, security, and the officials. The next night on SmackDown Live, Lynch showed up despite the suspension and slapped WWE COO Triple H after their back and forth interaction.
Now seeing how much she means to the company, the promotion could be using the suspension work to keep the star away from any possible injuries that can risk her match vs Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania 35.
This move dates back to Survivor Series where the two were supposed to square off, but due to a botched move by Nia Jax, the match was changed to Flair vs Rousey, as Lynch suffered a concussion that sidelined her for a few weeks.
What the fans want is a babyface Lynch going up against a heel Rousey. By adding the McMahons and Triple H into the fold, this will add to the hype, as it will be Lynch versus the world.
This can work if the bosses cost Lynch the title at 'Mania, which will prove what the rest of the women's division and fans know, that they have always favored Rousey over the rest. This will place Lynch as the face, and have her in the lead for main eventing more matches down the road.
Do you think WWE is going about the Lynch vs Rousey build-up for 'Mania the right way?
