Why Charlotte Flair should not have been added into the RAW Women's Championship picture

Although it is going to be a great match, the triple threat for the RAW Women's Championship seems unnecessary
Although it is going to be a great match, the triple threat for the RAW Women's Championship seems unnecessary

The triple threat match for the RAW Women's Championship is undoubtedly going to be a great one. The wrestlers involved in the inevitable triple threat match are all incredible in their own right and WWE is also doing a good job in building up the encounter between the three thus far.

The story of Becky Lynch overcoming the odds and defeating both Charlotte and Ronda Rousey despite the leg injury is going to be cathartic and will definitely be her WrestleMania moment and hopefully, the triple threat showdown between the aforementioned wrestlers will main event WrestleMania.

Becky, Charlotte, and Ronda being in the main event would be huge not only for them but also for Women's Wrestling in general. However, there is one issue with the RAW Women's title picture - the addition of Charlotte Flair.

Vince McMahon turning heel again is an issue in itself. However, Charlotte really didn't need to be in the match. In fact, the former Women's Champion not being in the program would make things a bit better, granted that Ronda never really defeated Charlotte since their only match ended with the Flair scion disqualifying herself.

Flair is now one of the most hated heels in the WWE after being inserted into the match, but that's pretty much it. Charlotte could have challenged Rousey either at Elimination Chamber or Fastlane, which could have ended with the former UFC Champion convincingly beating Charlotte. Dragging Charlotte's feud with the Raw Women's Champion to WrestleMania seems absolutely unnecessary.

Additionally, WWE didn't need Charlotte to play the role of a villain at WrestleMania as Rousey herself playing the role of the baddie during her feud with Lynch could have worked. It's not like she is the most over babyface in the WWE anyway!

The fans dislike Rousey, especially whenever she is up against Becky Lynch. It should also be noted that the things Rousey said to Becky on January 28, 2019, is something only a heel would say. The aggression she displayed in her promo felt genuine, which is something we need from every Rousey promo. Heel Ronda would give her the opportunity to express her displeasure and unhappiness with the fans as well as inject some life into an otherwise boring and stale character.

On the other side, Flair has no place in the feud between Becky and Ronda. It is clear that the reason Charlotte is even in the RAW Women's title picture is so she can take the pin, which is also an issue. Even if Ronda loses the title, she can still argue that she wasn't defeated in a one-on-one match.

She has not been pinned and submitted ever since she debuted in WWE. WrestleMania 35would have been the perfect platform for her to finally lose, especially if she does leave WWE after the PPV.

Another issue with Charlotte being added is the fact that she never earned her spot into the RAW Women's title match. She just replaced the Irish Lasskicker. Even though Ronda wasn't able to pin or make her tap out at Survivor Series 2018, Charlotte was the one who disqualified herself.

If Lana was the one who took offense with Lynch going to WrestleMania and was to replace Becky, that would have been justified (it would be a bad decision, though). It would have made sense as Lynch was the one who took Lana's place in the Royal Rumble match.

Charlotte lost the Rumble fair and square. She was defeated by her former best friend multiple times in 2018 and wasn't even able to defeat Ronda. There is no justification for adding Charlotte.

Asuka not having a credible opponent to defend her SmackDown Women's Championship against makes this a much tougher pill to swallow. The booking decision to insert Charlotte into the RAW Women's Championship match at WrestleMania makes the Empress of Tomorrow look like she is not a worthy champion. The top women of the SmackDown brand wanting to face the champion of RAW just goes to show how much the WWE Creative cares about the SmackDown Women's Champion.

The Triple Threat Match at WrestleMania guarantees to be a show-stealer, however, it would have been just fine if the match just had Lynch and Rousey battle each other for the RAW Women's Championship
