Opinion: Why Conor McGregor in WWE will never happen

<p>
Don't expect McGregor in the WWE anytime soon

The wrestling world, in fact, the entire world was shocked last month at the WWE Royal Rumble when the UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion, 'Rowdy' Ronda Rousey made her surprise official WWE debut.

Ronda has not been the only UFC name on WWE's radar in recent years, as they, particularly Triple H, have shown a lot of interest in the ever controversial UFC Lightweight Champion and former Featherweight Champion, Conor McGregor. Speaking to Daily Star back in 2017, Triple H had said:

“Conor has the world at his hand right now and he has a lot of opportunities. I do know that he’s a business man and he’s open to opportunities of business so, never say never."

Many others within WWE and the whole wrestling industry believe Conor may shockingly show up to WWE one day, as Ronda now has, but I believe it will never happen, and here is why.

Firstly, Conor's respect for the wrestling business is certainly up in the air. While he caused outrage for many wrestlers and fans back in 2016 by taking shots at wrestling, the general belief today is that Conor was just working everyone. Regardless, it has left a bad taste in many mouths.

Secondly, Conor believes he is the best in the world, even though he has lost four fights (one of which was boxing), he still believes he is the best and I believe he would be unwilling to lay down for a WWE Superstar.

Finally, Conor would never read from a written scripted promo, so how long do you think he could last without saying major swear words? Given his record for stirring controversies, the WWE may be on the receiving end of substantial flak for any untoward actions undertaken by The Notorious One.

Unlike Conor, Ronda Rousey has come to WWE because she has always loved and respected wrestling. She has always wanted to be a wrestler, while Conor would barely tick just one of those on that list.

While I'm sure Ronda is fairly set as far as money is concerned, as was Brock Lesnar before he returned to WWE in 2012, Conor is still making more money in UFC (and promotional business) than they ever did, so while Conor may keep other career options open in the future, I highly doubt being a wrestler in WWE will ever be one of them.
