Why was the crowd in Riyadh chanting "Ucey" on WWE RAW? Exploring its hilarious connection to The Bloodline
The crowd in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, was graced by the presence of the OG Bloodline last night. Bar Roman Reigns, every member of the group was present on Monday Night RAW. As Jey Uso, Sami Zayn, and Jimmy Uso were discussing, chants of "Ucey" could be heard from the audience.
Now, while the hardcore fans know what that is all about, some of the newer members of the WWE Universe may have wondered what was going on. Well, today, we take a step back in time and reminisce about one of the most hilarious moments in the company's history.
Back in the day, when Roman Reigns was still in charge of The Bloodline, he ruled with an iron fist. There was no time for fun and games and certainly no time for jokes. But an exception was made with Sami Zayn, the superstar whom many fans fondly remember as the "Honorary Uce."
Almost two years ago, on the October 28, 2022, episode of SmackDown, the term "Ucey" was coined. In fact, Sami Zayn was the one to do it. In a tense segment on the blue brand, Jey Uso, who back then wasn't a big fan of the Honorary Uce, mistakenly challenged the orders of The Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns. At that moment, Zayn stepped in and diffused the entire situation, claiming Jey didn't mean anything he said and was simply not feeling "Ucey."
It was a hilarious segment, one that even got the usually calm and stone-faced Reigns to crack a smile. To this day, it remains a key part of Bloodline lore, and as a reunion creeps closer and closer, it is sure to play a huge role. Regardless, if you didn't know about being "Ucey" before, now you do.
The OG Bloodline is scheduled to have a meeting on SmackDown
Hearing the "Ucey" chants after so long was certainly a throwback, and fans may get to hear more of it this week on SmackDown. On last night's RAW, the discussion between Sami Zayn, Jey Uso, and Jimmy Uso ended with the Main Event inviting The Underdog from the Underground to the blue brand. His objective? To facilitate a meeting between the OG members of The Bloodline.
This means that if Zayn chooses to accept the invitation, we will see him, Jey, Jimmy, and Roman Reigns in the ring together. Given their history, there is a good chance there will be some fireworks. But this could also be a crucial moment that defines the outcome of the ongoing civil war.
Friday night could very well be the moment when we see the reunion of the OG Bloodline. Roman, Sami, Jey, and Jimmy are all on the same side again. And they will be gunning to take down Solo Sikoa's Bloodline.
