Why Finn Balor's booking after Royal Rumble 2019 seems uncertain
The most extraordinary night of WWE, something which raises the stakes even higher than WrestleMania for many, courtesy the 30 men/women Royal Rumble which concluded a few hours back.
The huge night saw some great results. Seth Rollins winning the Royal Rumble certainly underlines where we thought the Architect was heading, and a WWE Universal match against Brock Lesnar looks certain on the grandest stage of all, WrestleMania 35. But what bothers me is how Finn Balor is going to suffer on his way to WrestleMania.
In the most recent episode of RAW, Bobby Lashley attacked Finn Balor, and it seems like WWE is setting up Finn Balor for the Intercontinental Championship picture, courtesy his loss to Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at the Royal Rumble.
That is a great fall which can't be undone, since WWE has to build up for the much-hyped Seth Rollins vs Brock Lesnar WrestleMania 35 match-up.
While Finn Balor might have given us a great match, which was also highlighted by Brock Lesnar himself, after he brutally attacked him when the match was over, things don't look too good for Finn Balor.
The inaugural Universal Champion has seen many ups and downs in his WWE career. And it always feels like WWE pushes him to the pinnacle, and then suddenly drops him down to the lower card.
As things stand right now, Seth Rollins and Brock Lesnar will compete against each other for the Universal title till WrestleMania, and there doesn't seem to be any plan for a re-match between Finn Balor and Brock Lesnar.
The Demon vs The Beast. It felt like Finn Balor was used as a filler for the Royal Rumble so Seth Rollins could be crowned the winner and put into the Universal title picture. This makes things difficult for Finn Balor, who will once again struggle to find a good storyline.
Dean Ambrose and Lashley still have scores to settle, while Lashley's attack on Balor also needs answering.
WWE will have to decide on a perfect outcome to this chaos.
