Why is John Cena doing media with NBC, Hollywood developments

John Cena is a major part of NBC cleaning up the image of the WWE for new sponsors

The one thing that was evident from this week’s RAW was that John Cena was not just back in the ring for the WWE, but he was back to being the most visible face of the brand across all media.

From co-hosting the ‘Today’ show and appearing in popular morning shows on NBC earlier this week, Cena is reportedly a big part in NBC trying to clean up the image of pro-wrestling.

Following NBC helping WWE and the USA Network secure better advertising recently, they have a lot riding on the wrestling business as their most profitable network USA Network will begin airing WWE programming for 5 of its 21 primetime hours, starting next week.

This, as per various sources, makes it imperative that the network sells those many hours to better sponsors than what they have been able to do in the past.

While Cena continues to juggle the various media gigs with being WWE’s main player, it wouldn’t be a surprise if he starts to get more offers from Hollywood now that his look and ability to do comedy is starting to get noticed.

This wouldn’t come as a surprise for anyone as he has garnered a lot of positive reactions after his performances in this year’s Trainwreck, Sisters and Daddy’s Home.
