Why Seth Rollins must slay The Beast
He has been WWE's workhorse for quite some time now. He can go 60 minutes or multiple matches on the same show. He is carrying a show that needs all the help it can get. Whether he is putting together a perfect match or slaying the king, right now he is Monday Night Rollins.
Seth Rollins is the reason to watch WWE Raw. As shown this past Monday, he is the whole show. The crowd hangs onto every move and it seems every week he tries to reinvent himself. The quick over the top moonsault onto the floor is just one example. Since Triple H has challenged him to become the old Rollins, he has found that old fire that made him WWE Champion and now needs to mix it with his new superstardom.
Remember when Rollins held the title, he was a heel. He had the backing of the Authority. While he always proved in the ring that he is much better than everyone, he could never secure the pinfall without a little help. That is not the case anymore. He is a top-level athlete in WWE. His move set matches no one and the crowd cannot wait for Mondays for him to burn it down.
As we saw on Raw, it seems like his program with Ambrose has come to an end. He was granted his Intercontinental Title rematch in a falls count anywhere match, but with interference from Bobby Lashley, came up short. This seems to be his last opportunity at the belt he made the main title on Raw. The question is what is next for Rollins?
It looks like an inevitable feud with Lashley is coming but that should be short-lived. This is not a feud that will carry us through Wrestlemania. Rollins needs to be back in the main event where he belongs. What Seth Rollins needs to do is something he has not accomplished yet and that is to slay the "Beast" Brock Lesnar.
While you may think he technically owns a victory over Lesnar is true, remember it was Roman Reigns who he scored the pinfall over in the main event of Wrestlemania 31 where he cashed in his Money in the Bank contract. It still is one of the biggest shockers in WrestleMania history, maybe second to Lesnar defeating the Undertaker's undefeated streak.
When they had a 1 on 1 matchup at Battleground in 2015, this was a set-up to the Undertaker coming back to seek revenge for Lesnar costing him the streak. It was still a scared Seth Rollins vs the much feared Brock Lesnar. I think in 2019, that fear is minimal. Rollins is not scared of the Beast nor should he be. He can out hustle and wrestle him on any given night.
You know WWE wants Lesnar in the main event of WrestleMania. He is their big money draw. Right now they need a star who people would kill to have slay the beast. That star is Seth Rollins. Rollins can go from the Kingslayer to the Beastslayer all in one event.
