Why Sting should debut as a rebel against the Authority

A dream waiting to be lived

Sting can be the General Manager of Raw or Smakcdown

Almost a decade of waiting it to come to an end as the WWE fans are all set to see Sting step his foot into the four sided ring of Vince McMahon’s promotion.

The rumors have been strong ever since he left TNA and it reached its epitome when Sting tweeted out a cryptic message which suggested his association with the WWE. Now, though he is a big star in the professional wrestling business, he is not someone that the fans would be able to see regularly in between the ropes.

Despite his age, Sting was having matches week in and week out at TNA and one can assume that it was because the company needed him. This is not the situation with WWE as they already have established talents making it big in the roster.

Which means that the first decision WWE should make regarding Sting will be to limit his in ring time. One match every three months would be a good rate if the creative team finds him a good character which need not wrestle, but stays in the limelight.

And there won’t be any better option than an Authority figure to meet those requirements.

After the firing of Brad Maddox and Vickie Guerrero, the company is lacking in that category and Sting could fit in well. He could either be the general manager of Raw or SmackDown depending on how much faith WWE has in him.

WWE needs a chaotic leader and Sting can be one

However, one important thing WWE should notice while giving him the Authority figure character would be his alignment. Both Maddox and Vickie were heels and had close relations to the Authority. The last thing that WWE fans would want to see Sting do is a similar character.

Sting being the puppet of Triple H and Stephanie McMahon would ruin the entire wait that was put into his return. Instead, what the WWE should do is to make him a face who is endorsed by none another than Vince McMahon.

McMahon installing Sting into the Authority to bring back some order would be a great angle in which the fans can invest. All these time, Hunter and Stephanie had angles with Daniel Bryan, John Cena, Roman Reigns and even the Big show. These were individual superstars and they didn’t have a leader to lead them.

Sting could be the Chaotic leader that the youngsters need

An individual against the system and a team against the system are two entirely different things and the latter could be more effective since Survivor Series is the next big pay-per-view after SummerSlam.

A power battle between Triple H and Sting?

Sting is a seasoned veteran when it comes to playing such roles and has done similar stuff in TNA. He won’t have any trouble blending in a big stage as well making it an ideal situation.

The fans would be more eager in seeing a power battle between Sting and Hunter on a long term rather than him having a quick once in a lifetime match before retiring. Since it is a dream come true for most of the fans, the company should let the fans live that dream and have Sting appear regularly unlike what they are doing with Hulk Hogan.

The youngsters will also find new levels with the help of the icons as he is well known for doing the same at TNA.

If the company wants, they can introduce some nostalgic WCW into the mix saying that Sting wants to give new life to the dead promotion by ending Hunter’s reign. This way WWE could give a short run to the defunct promotion much like they did with ECW sometime back and boost the merchandise sales with a new product to show for.

Being the only credible heels in the company, the Authority has been running rampant without much of a talent after Shield broke up and a team led by Sting would restore some chaotic order among the fans that are getting tired of all the repetitions that WWE is doing with their storylines.
