Why WWE should have a feud between Cesaro and Lesnar

Their alliance should be restored after Lesnar leaves

A week ago Paul Heyman was conspicuous by his absence during Cesaro’s match. We saw him towards the end of that show mentioning about a certain ‘Plan C’ to Triple H. What is absolutely abrupt is the decision to separate Heyman and Cesaro’s partnership. In a short segment last night, Cesaro made it clear to Triple H backstage in the latter’s office that he was no longer a ‘Paul Heyman’ guy and that he wants to be part of the Authority.

This segment might have been overshadowed by what was a stellar Raw which was highlighted by a trademark Paul Heyman promo. But why is Cesaro no longer a Paul Heyman guy? Is it because WWE don’t want to repeat the scenario of having Heyman manage multiple superstars at the same time? Or is it because they are interested in having a match between Cesaro and Lesnar?

The Reason behind the Split

When you think of Lesnar’s early days in the WWE, you can’t picture him without Heyman. Their partnership was one of the best and they even went on to have a feud with each other. And being one of Lesnar’s greatest discoveries, it is apparent why Heyman’s loyalties lie with Lesnar and why he would choose the beast incarnate over anybody else. So the on screen reason for Cesaro no longer being managed by Heyman can be attributed to this little fact. There were also reports that Cesaro’s push is not on the management’s priority list as of now. So his push is on the waiting list.

Just last night Cesaro had a match with Ambrose which he won by disqualification. Both of them looked like equals and both of them did not look weak in the process. But on Smackdown, Ambrose got a clean victory over Cesaro despite Rollins’ interference. I just hope that he did not lose without a fight.

WWE just had him in the middle of a push earlier this year. And it looked like his star is shining too bright. Soon, he won the Andre the Giant battle Royal at Wrestlemania with a spectacular performance and soon aligned himself with Paul Heyman. That was all just 3 months ago. And in all those 3 months Paul Heyman introduced himself first and then went blah blah about Brock Lesnar and then after many paragraphs introduced his newest client. So the reason behind their separation seems to be apparent.

But I still believe it can lead to something better for the time being.

The Heady Concoction

Come to think of it, WWE has realized Cesaro’s potential and he is still very over with the audience. It will be very interesting to see Brock Lesnar and the King Of Swing collide. Lesnar is known for his strength and agility. So is Cesaro. Cesaro may not look very burly compared to Lesnar, but his USP is his freak strength. They might provide a very interesting and refreshing in ring chemistry. It shouldn’t be a battle with Paul Heyman being the center of conflict and Cesaro being the one to take his revenge on Heyman, but it should be more like an ego tussle between the two wrestlers. It should be more on the basis of ‘I am Better than you’. I am actually looking forward to seeing Lesnar’s style of wrestling combine with Cesaro’s style. This can be quite a heady concoction.

This should not be the End

In conclusion, Lesnar has only benefitted with his alliance with Heyman and so can Cesaro. Lesnar won’t always be there. It is only better to have Heyman extend an olive branch and find his way back to managing Cesaro. With Heyman by his side, Cesaro’s prospects in the WWE looked brighter as his mic skills were not as spectacular as his wrestling.

Only time will tell.
