Will Adam Cole be the Next Big Thing?
Adam Cole is on top of the NXT Mountain right now. Even though his former foe Aleister Black is the NXT Champion, Adam Cole and the Undisputed Era are easily on top of the brand right now.
The inaugural North American Champion is one of the most charismatic members of the NXT roster right now and has been killing it ever since he debuted at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III. His first impression, which he made by attacking Drew McIntyre has been a lasting one, as he and his Undisputed Era cohorts have been running rampant on the roster. He has been a fearless leader, who is ready to fight at any costs.
His resilience and durability has been portrayed well by WWE. He participated in the 2018 Royal Rumble, despite being injured from his war with Aleister Black the night before. He was made to fight through a grueling ladder match and then tag with Kyle O Reilly for the Dusty Rhodes Tag Classic finals/NXT Tag Team Championship match. He may be a heel, but these instances sell his badassery to the entire Universe.
Adam Cole just seems to be so immensely over with the crowd, it seems like he will fly to the main event on the main roster. He has all the necessary tools to shatter the glass ceiling. If he and his faction members are not broken up for cheap storyline heat, they can absolutely rule the main roster when their time comes. Adam Cole's stock as the leader, but also his own man has been rising in NXT, and it is hard to believe that he has been there for only 8 months.
The biggest plus point for Cole is his age. Many of the current main eventers in WWE are pushing 40, or have already crossed that age. John Cena and Brock Lesnar (41), AJ Styles (40), Samoa Joe (39), Shinsuke Nakamura and Randy Orton (38), and Daniel Bryan (36) are the main stars right now. Apart from them, we have Braun Strowman (34), Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose (32), and Seth Rollins (31). Adam Cole is just 28. He has so much to offer WWE, and can potentially serve them for a very long time. If WWE make him a priority investment, he will be one of the cornerstones for the next generation of WWE stars.
No one can question whether or not Adam Cole has all the necessary tools to be the next superstar of WWE. He has an over gimmick, great in-ring talent and great presence on the microphone. He is the total package. Only if WWE see the same value in him and push him the way he deserves to be, can we see Adam Cole as the star he deserves to be. Everything he has done up until now reeks of brilliance, and WWE would be stupid to not realize that themselves.
