WWE WrestleMania 22: Dreams do come true - The Rey Mysterio saga

John Cena in action against Triple H

WrestleMania 22, the twenty-second annual WrestleMania pay-per-view event under the WWE banner was presented by Snickers and took place on 2 April 2006, at the Allstate Arena in the Chicago suburb of Rosemont, Illinois. The event card contained 12 matches and almost all the titles except the Intercontinental title were defended that night.

The tickets for this show were sold out in less than two minutes after the sale was opened. The event amassed US$2.5 million for the event, making it the highest grossing one-day event at the Allstate Arena. Also, this was the last WrestleMania event that was held inside a traditional arena.

The Undertaker vs Mark Henry

The Phenom strikes once again

After beating Randy Orton the previous year and improving his streak to 13-0 at WrestleMania, the Undertaker returned at WM 22 to face the world’s strongest man, Mark Henry in a Casket match. The first superstar to push his opponent into the casket and close the lid is declared the winner.

In a relatively shorter match, it was all Undertaker right from the beginning. Taker countered two attempts from Henry to close the lid for the win and reversed them with the moves of his own. He finally made his streak 14-0 after delivering a Tombstone to Henry and pushing him into the casket.
