WrestleMania 30 Preview: The Triple Threat Main Event Match
WrestleMania 30 is going to take place on the April 6th in New Orleans. The main event of the epic show is set to have the battle for the WWE World Heavyweight championship. The match which was initially only a singles match between the Champion Randy Orton and the Royal Rumble victor Batista was made a triple threat match by Triple H. The move which added a lot of intrigue is set to feature either of Daniel Bryan or Triple H himself as the third candidate depending on the outcome of the match scheduled between them on the same night.
In the past few years, WrestleMania has had a lot of high profile but predictable main events. Last year’s WrestleMania is a prime example of such matches. This year though, the fans would be kept very much at the edge of their seats. The main event is properly balanced and though the fan favorite Daniel Bryan does in as the favorite, it may well be any of the four men, who may walk out as the champion.
Build Up:
The main event of the WrestleMania has actually had a patchy build up. With the amount of time which was spent by the creative team, it would be rather disappointing that the main event only has a second grade build up. While Randy Orton is shown as a coward champion heel, Batista’s character has taken a swing in the past weeks. First introduced as a face, WWE clearly wanted the match to be a singles one, with the crowd supporting a returning Batista.
After Bryan’s mistreatment and Punk’s departure, Batista took a lot of heat from the crowd. Now, the creative had no chance but to book him as a heel. And so from a returning hero to a hated heel, Batista is yet to find the proper footing. Moreover, he has not impressed with his in ring performance either.
The main event looks more like the second part of the Authority versus Daniel Bryan storyline. The story which starts with the match between Triple H and Daniel Bryan, looks to finish with the championship hanging in the balance. However, it still marks out as an interesting feature on the card which earlier looked bleak.
Orton’s Strength:
The defending champion Orton, looks like the weakest player of the four currently. Though he may be the Apex Predator of the WWE, off late he has not looked one bit like the viper he used to be. The ruthless aggression and the cunning persona, that is so unique in Orton, is missing. Instead we see a depleted Randy Orton.
The only way he may yet retain the title, is if somehow the other superstars are screwed by outside interference or by some misdeeds of his own. His in ring performance is sure to be brilliant and Orton has a ton of talent to shine on any stage.
Batista’s Strength:
The Animal returned in skinny jeans and looks more like Pitbull than the Batista which left the WWE in 2010. His strength and power are the strong points through which he can beat any wrestler on his day. It would be hard , however, for him to adapt to the pace of the match, especially if Bryan is in it.
Batista has been very slow since his return to WWE. He is yet to set the ring on fire with his matches. Whether WrestleMania would be the stage for that, we will have to wait and watch.
Prediction:
Daniel Bryan should win the match and become the WWE World heavyweight Champion. He definitely deserves the honors and the crowd would be totally loving it. Some outside interferences and the earlier match between Bryan and Triple H would also play a key role in the outcome.
Match Consequences:
The new champion would most certainly may have new challengers as well. If Bryan comes out as the champion, Batista would be the first choice to challenge the goat faced superstar. On the other hand, Batista may well have a score of challengers waiting for him. Cena, Sheamus, Reigns and even Cesaro comes to mind along with Bryan.
Randy Orton looks set for things which do not deal with titles. Maybe a face turn?
And as for Triple H, it would be intriguing to see how he fares out after the whole Authority storyline.
Expected Ratings:
9/10
