When Kofi Kingston successfully pinned Daniel Bryan to win the WWE Title, my hands were on my head with my mouth agape while my eyes began to get wet. It was the moment almost everyone in the WWE Universe had been waiting for as Kofi Kingston finally lifted the WWE Title after 11 years in the company.
While most thought that he was going to win it, a part of them were in an ocean of uncertainty as WWE haven’t entirely listened to their fans in the last few years.
However, all those allegations can now be put to bed as the results of WrestleMania 35 have proven that WWE are now indeed listening to its fans.
In Kofi’s win, there were some lessons imparted to the world – and here are three things that we should learn from Kingston’s moment…
#3 Physical appearance does not matter
When Vince McMahon was consistently putting hurdles in Kingston’s way, Big E posted a video on social media claiming that people “like us” can only go so far. It – the kayfabe video – implied that WWE might not want a black champion.
There is also another allegation that WWE constantly face is that the company prefers Superstars who are big in size. And this might be true; after all, Brock Lesnar held the WWE Universal Title hostage for a long time.
